Ronald Völker wins at CTS2 Rd4

Round 4 of CTS2 was held at Hobbytown Fresno, California this weekend and Modified TC was the premier class to watch. With a special guest appearance by team Yokomo driver and reigning World Champion Ronald Volker, he would be the third World Champ to attend the California Touring Series this season. Upon arrival to the track, Volker enjoyed his time with his US comrades and got the chance to meet a lot of his fans in California. Meanwhile as the weekend continued, the Yokomo ace driver showed the way all through practice and race day. Drivers like Eric Albano and Brandon Clements showed really good driving pace to match some of Volker’s hot laps but unable duplicate what Ronald has produced. With a rough start in Q1 for series points leader Team Associated driver Rick Hohwart, he would then complete a stronger qualifier for Q2 which put him in P4 for the show and ended up finishing 3rd in the main while Albano came home in 2nd. Volker controlled the lead from tone to tone in the main taking home a perfect run.

Isaac Amoròs wins Catalan Pro10 Champs Rd2

The second round of the Catalan Electric Touring Championship CCTE was held at the AMSA track. The event was held alongside the Catalan Pro10 Championship and running both classes made for high grip track conditions. In the Pro10 Modified class Marc Valero won the first qualifying round while Isaac Amoròs won Q2. With Jaime Lacuesta taking the third round things would be pretty interesting in the finals. Ultimately the TQ went to Isaac but Marc looked to be set for some fierce battles in the A-mains. On a very technical track and with little space to overtake, the first final round was extremely frenetic, with a couple of risky overtakes between the two main finalists but both scored their fastest laps in the final A-main with a 17.726s for Isaac and a 17.770 for Marc. In the end Isaac would take the day’s win from Marc in 2nd, Jaime Lacuesta 3rd and Sergio Lacuesta 4th. In the championship Isaac is leading the standings from Jaime and Marc going into round 3 of the championship that will be held on the 2nd of July at the Rubi track.

Thanks to Marc Valero for the report.
