Martinho & Jardim win at Portuguese Nationals Rd2

The second round of the Portuguese Electric On-road Nationals was held at the Madeira Island. Tyre wear would be a topic all weekend with drivers seeking setups to save tyres as much as possible. In the Touring Car Modified class Hugo Exposto took the TQ after the qualifiers despite this being his first ever electric race. In the Stock class Duarte Vasconcelos topped the timing sheets after the qualifiers. Come the finals the weather changed with light rain and fog coming up. Alessio Forte wins at Freedom Cup

Alessio Forte wins at Freedom Cup

The 3rd race of the Freedom Cup was held at the Miniautodromo Teverola in Italy and it had David Loppini taking the TQ from Mario Spiniello. Soon after the start of the main final Mario had to return to the pits as his car’s engine had to be retuned but despite loosing precious time he was able to get into the lead with nine minutes to go. A flame out then again cost him dearly and once back on the track Mario tried to make up time which worked out pretty well as he was three to four tenth faster than the other drivers. At the end Mario ran out of time though but managed to secure the final spot on the podium behind runner-up David Loppini and winner Alessio Forte.

Oliver Mack wins Central German Championship Rd2

Oliver Mack wins Central German Championship Rd2

The second round of the Central German Championship was held at the MC Ettlingen track where the ENS Rd3 as well as the Euros A will be held later this year. Saturday started out with free practice in the morning and right from the start Shepherd factory racer Oliver Mack showed a great performance clocking the fastest lap times with team boss Patrick Schäfer being second fastest. As the weather forecast predicted a lot of rain for Sunday it was decided to run two qualifying rounds on Saturday afternoon. In the first round Oliver had a good run and he took the TQ nearly one lap ahead of fellow Shepherd racer Dennis Weihert. In the second round Oliver had a contact with another car and unfortunately these were the only two runs under dry conditions for the whole weekend so the Expert drivers decided to count the result after qualifying which handed Oliver the win over Dennis Weihert.
