Ermen & Rausch take West German championships

John Ermen and Bernd Rausch are the 2014 Western German nitro on-road champions. Xray factory racer John Ermen from the Netherlands celebrated his second victory in the 4th and final round of the Western German Championship in the 1/8th scale class 1 at the Hamm track. In 1/10th scale a 2nd place finish behind team mate Benjamin Lehmann was enough for Shepherd team driver Bernd Rausch to capture the title and to get back the prestigious starting number “1” for the 2015 campaign. In 1/8 scale class 2 Mugen racer Reinhard Zick has caught the title while Serpent racer Thomas Reiche took the final win.

Jan Ratheisky wins at German TC nationals warm-up

The final round of the Northern Germany electric on-road regionals was held at the huge Braunschweig track this past weekend. The race also marked the warm-up for the German electric touring car nationals later this year. In the 13.5T Blinky Stock class, Jan Ratheisky took the pole position followed by Kevin Sparbier with both being tie on points after the qualifiers. Benjamin Eggerstedt came in 3rd.

Team Durango driver Elliott Harper has announced he has signed for GForce to run their full line of pit accessories, for the remainder of the 2014 season and beyond. The 2010 World Championship Podium finisher had this to say about the new deal:

Firstly, I would like to thank Mr. Jang and Keith from Muchmore for their support over the years. As we approach this year’s European and World Championships, I felt it was time for a change and, having seen the quality and line-up of the GForce products already in use trackside, I am proud to represent the company and hope to achieve some great results with them. Skornia wins at Northern Germany regionals Rd3

The 3rd round of the Northern Germany nitro on-road regionals was held at the MAC Hamburg track. Lennart Skornia was the man to beat during the weekend as he was able to win all four qualifying heats to take the overall TQ. After starting from pole position into the main final, Lennart never looked back to take a close win from Ingo Bobrowski and Christian Schnädter who finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Markus Hellquist wins in Oslo

The combined 3rd round of the Swedish Cup and Norwegian national championship was held by the Oslo Modellbilklubb. The event was run in the four classes of 1/8th track, 1/10th 200mm nitro touring, and both modified and stock electric on-road. The weather was very uncertain, but in the end the event was run in dry weather conditions, despite some rain during Saturday night. After 4 rounds of 5 minute qualifying in the nitro classes, Lars Haugen managed to get the TQ spot in 1/8th track, followed by Bengt Andersson in 2nd and Christofer Hedlund in 3rd.

Essex Summer Series – Announcement

Essex Summer Series – Announcement

Oli Meggitt and the Essex Winter Series team have announced that they will be taking their style of racing event to the next level, by holding an outdoor race meeting later this Summer. The Essex Summer Series will be a one-off meeting, to be held on the weekend of the 13th and 14th September 2014 at the Brooklands Raceway, near Ashford, Kent, in the South East of the UK. Classes for the event will be Open Modified, and the debut in the UK of a new Super Stock class – 13.5 “Blinky” zero timing – which is already extremely popular across Europe, Asia and the United States. Any BRCA approved 13.5 turn motor can be used, with any zero-timing “blinky” speed controller and a maximum gear ratio of 4.0. Controlled tyres for both classes will be the popular Sorex 32 RY. Dutch 1/8th on-road nationals Rd4 - Report

This past weekend the 4th round of the Dutch 1/8th scale nationals was hosted by the friendly people of the Model Auto Race Genk club in Belgium. The weekend was characterised by the weather. Saturday’s practice was pretty much washed away by the rain with only two dry hours at the very end of the practice. Sunday started dry, but after the 3 qualifying rounds it started to rain again.
