The sixth round of the Parana State Championship was held at the track of Curitiba. Heitor Nogueira was the dominant driver all weekend with his Serpent Cobra GT and took both the first and second of the two 30 minutes final heats. In the final race he was able to finish some three laps ahead of the second placed driver.

The first of eight races of the 2012/13 Mibosport Cup attracted over 130 drivers from 6 countries including some of Europe’s top drivers such as Martin Bayer, Rene Klockner, Dominic Vogl, René Trauner, Martin Hudy and Zdenko Kunák. The race was held in a variety of electric classes such as 2WD and 4WD buggy, Formula, Yokomo GT, Stock 17.5T and Modified TC. In the TC Modified class 40 drivers fought for the victory and the battle for TQ was on between Martin Hudy, Zdenko Kunák, René Klockner and Dominic Vogl. In the final Martin Hudy was able to secure the top position on the podium followed by Zdenko Kunák and René Klockner.

The 2012 ROAR On Road Fuel Nationals were held last weekend at the Nugget Ranch Raceway in Arcadia, FL. This year’s event included the three classes 10th Sedan, 8th Masters, and 8th Open. The race format was like an IFMAR Worlds event in the sense that the top 4 would qualify directly to the 1 hour final, with the rest of the field having to qualify through one of two 30 minute semi finals. In 1/10 Sedan, it was DJ Apolaro who set the TQ with Scotty Grey, Scott Kimbrow and Paolo Morgante filling out the top 4 spots. Early in qualifying, on-road star Mike Swauger had some bad luck which in the end looked to cost him a top 4 spot with Paul Lemieux getting faster through the rounds but also narrowly missing out on the top 4. In the end, it was Mike and Paul taking the win in their semis along with Billy Bowerman, Eric Jones and Anthony Schimizzi all running great semi finals to find their way in to the main event.

The recent fourth round of the Malaysia electric touring car nationals saw a record entry for the Superstock 13.5T boosted class and it was Spec-R R1 driver Chong who won the first round of qualifiers with a time even faster than most Prostock 10.5T drivers achieved. Round number two went to VBC Wildfire pilot Michael Lo only to be beaten by VBC Racing Asia driver Jeremy Wong who took the fastest time of the day in round three with an 18laps 5:01.873 run. Come the finals the heaven opened its doors and the meeting was washed away meaning the qualifying results would count handing Jeremy Wong and the VBC Wildfire the overall win. Sharin came in second with Michael Lo taking the last spot on the podium.

The non-profit Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series (WCICS) announce the kick-off of their 2012/13 season. The 3 day races, hosted by 8 different clubs, are over the winter months of October to March and attract a wide range of racers from beginners up to international super stars like Paul Lemieux, Ty Tessman, Brian Bodine and Peter Robinson. WCICS runs eight different classes including Tamiya Mini, 1/12th pan cars, World GT and Modified Touring Cars. The opening round of the Norwegian national indoor series was held by the host club VMBK in Fagernes last Sunday and Adrian Berntsen sent us this report. The race saw some 43 drivers attending in four different classes, including 1:10 Modified, 1:10 Stock, 1:12 Pan Car, and M-Chassis. The track was as always in this event, big with a size of approximately 600m2 with a nice and well combined layout. Especially for me and Petter, the traction was totally different from what we were having in the ETS round in Germany one week before, so this would give us some challenges on finding a new and better setup for our ORCA powered T4’s.

The Sweep Rug Racers UK series began on Sunday 7th October with Round 1 seeing some changes to last year’s series. The 13.5t Touring Championship stays as was but this year a switch to 17.5t ‘Blinky’ (or stock) was welcomed by many. As well as this the SUKRR series has also become home to the Mardave Championship this winter providing a great series for those racing a Mardave chassis. In 13.5t we had a 2 way battle between Tony Broad and Schumacher’s Ashley Wiffen. The pair would put in some great qualifying runs pushing each other all the way. It would be Tony though that would take pole for the A-Main with Ashley’s Mi4cxl right behind him in 2nd, Richard King with his Awesomatix in 3rd.

Multiple world champion Marc Rheinard has signed to Hot Race tyres in a one off deal for the 200mm World championship to be held in Bangkok next month. The newly signed Capricorn driver will join fellow World Champion and Tamiya team mate Jilles Groskamp along with European Vice Champion Mario Spiniello in choosing the tires from this young tire company.
