The final round of the 2012/13 Mibosport Cub will take place at the weekend of the 16th of March. The race will see the grand season final with price drawing ceremony to win Yokomo kits and LRP Flow speed controls. There will also be prices for all driver who attended at a minimum of six rounds of the cup. Yokomo factory driver Ronald Völker will attend the race as a special guest in TC modified and 2WD buggy. The Bandung Open 2013 race was held as the grand opening race of the new Bandung Indah Golf on-road circuit located in Bandung, the capital city of West Java. The race saw a strong 50 competitors field from Jakarta, Bandung, Malang, Yogyakarta and Banjarmasin. The meeting was held in the Super Stock, FWD and Mini class. In the Super Stock class, Bowie Ginting (Xray) who only arrived on Sunday morning, took the TQ honors, followed by defending national champion Heri Susanto (Xray) who ended up some 3 seconds behind Bowie. Another post-TITC attendant who just made it to the race was Ronald Kasengkang (Tamiya), followed by Denny Pangestu (Associated) and Ade Jatmiko (Xray). In the FWD class, local hotshot Irawan Situmorang took the TQ spot.

The recent 7th round of the Yokomo presented Mibosport Cup saw 120 drivers from the Czech Republic and many other parts of Europe. Run in several electric on-road and off-road classes such as 2WD and 4WD buggy, Stock Zero 17.5T, Modified TC, Formula and Yokomo GT, for the seventh round also a Dash for Voucher Race was added to the main race and it offered again a great show. In the Modified TC category 24 drivers entered the race and fought for the victory. The TQ went to Zdenko Kunak ahead of Martin Hudy and Marek Cerny. The A final saw Zdenko Kunak winning the race on its first outing with his new Yokomo. Martin Hudy and Kuba Simurda finished second and third respectively. 25 drivers fought for the top positions in the Stock Zero 17.5T class and the class saw a great battle between Marek Cerny and Zdenko Kunak during and in the finals finals too. TQ and the class win went to Marek Cerny. David Nemcek was able to grab second spot with Toni Stangl and Oskar Gabor Forrai in tow.

Multi-time Spanish national 1/8th on-road champion Oscar Cabezas announce his departure from Merlin fuel and his new tie-up with fuel supplier Collari MLC to run their products in this year’s Spanish nats and at the Euro in Halifax. This is what Oscar has to say:
I want to thank Merlin for these good years […] I’ve been 5 times Spanish Nats Champion and two times direct finalist [at the] Euros. Now I’m very happy of start a new stage with MLC. The victory, pole position and fastest lap in the first race of this year’s National at Valencia is a good start.

The opening round of the Italian 1/10th 200mm Nationals were held last weekend in Acquaviva delle Fonti. Qualifying would see KM Racing driver Dario Balestri head the timing sheets in front of Alessio Mazzeo and Alessio Forte. However before the finals could be run the father of one of the racers had a serious medical emergency and had to be rushed to hospital and so along with the agreement of all the drivers the race director made the decision to stop the race and declare the results based on qualifying.

This past weekend saw the first race of the Spanish nationals take place in Almussafes and Nacho Lopez sent this report. We were quite confident before the race, because we had a really good setup. However the weather forecast was not so good everything could happens. This year in Spain we have two direct finalists to increase the emotion of the heats. So it was important to achieve at least a second place to avoid the semifinals.

The organisers of the new Italian race series ‘International GP’ were in touch to promote their 4 round championship. Supported by many of the main Italian RC Car brands the series kicks off this weekend in Fiorano before making 3 more stops, ending in September. Orcan have announced that their team driver Rico Kröber has re-signed for the upcoming season. He will use and develop the Orcan Nitro products especially the Orcan GT3-MH engine as well as the Orcan fuel. Rico will drive Orcan products at German national races, German Championship and the European Championship in Austria this season. He had this to say about the deal:
I am proud to be a member of the Orcan Team and I am looking confident into the future and to the next races because of the professional work with Bertram Kessler during the last years. We have developed a lot of new ideas which we will bring 2013 at the racetrack.
