Rino Lino & Patricio Concha win Pacific Cup 2012

The Pacific Cup is a race, in Lima Peru, that has been going on for the last few years and continues to grow each year. This year over 70 racers from all over the World to include the USA, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Germany and of course Peru attended the event. The race is held on a permanent track next to the Ocean was even broadcasted in the local media and therefore attracted over 2,000 spectators. Because of the good experience made at the recent races the organisers also plan on applying for the 2014 200mm sedan World Championships.

Alpe Adria Cup 2012 – Announcement

The organisers of the 2012 Alpe Adria Cup have been in touch to announce their new series. Taking place between April and October, the 4 round series sees races in Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Italy and features the motto ‘fun, fair racing and friendship’. The series will use a handout tire for both classes giving the same conditions for everyone and helping prevent the use of tire additives. The tires will only be allowed to be put on in parc ferme and there are a limited number of tires for each driver during the event to keep costs down. Kyosho Germany adds DRX class to World Cup

Kyosho Germany have announced the addition of a new category to their Kyosho World Cup brand trophy. Valid for races within their sales territory this class will bring the races back to the parking lots. Using Kyosho’s own DRX nitro rally car the class combines the side-by-side on-road racing with the challenging and fun to drive obstacles of off-road racing. No need to have a clean and smooth race track, race with your friends on the surface next to you and enjoy the handling, performance and details of these awesome looking cars.

Hadley Junior High School RC Program

Paul Lemieux got in contact to tell us about a program he has been involved with at Hadley Junior High School in Glen Ellyn Illinois. The school has a longstanding and unique program to offer its students – it has a RC Program. I have been involved with the program in the past and attended another Hadley event on Sunday, March 4th to work with the kids.

2012 Motonica Trophy – Announcement

The ‘Mini Racing Ayrton Senna track’ in Melzo in Italy will play host to the 2012 Motonica Trophy, which will be run on the 17th to 18th of March. Open to 1/8 Onroad, 1/8 Classic and 1/10 Onroad, the race will consist of 4 minute heats and finals for everybody and each participant will receive a free set of tires. Niclas Nilsson wins, Michael Nilsson champion

The sixth and final round of the South Swedish Indoor Cup was held in Gothenburg and 30 drivers attended in the Modified class, which is quite good for this time of the season. The track saw some low grip and a tight and very technical layout making it very hard to go fast. After three rounds of qualifying Niclas Nilsson took TQ followed closely by Michael Nilsson and super talented Niklas Johansson, normally driving 1/8 onroad. After some nice qualifying we made it into the finals.

Krapps gives Kyosho its first ETS victory

Christopher Krapp has secured both his and Kyosho’s first win in the Euro Touring Series after a thrilling second A-Main that saw the 19-year-old hang on to take his second win of the day and put the Gran Canaria victory beyond the reach of the World class field of drivers.  Top Qualifier for the first ETS visit to the Spanish holiday island Krapp, who took the second A-Main ahead of Tamiya’s Marc Rheinard and Viktor Wilck, said it had been an ‘Awesome weekend with everything finally coming to together for him.
