SARDA National EP Off-road Champs Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the South African SARDA National Electric Off-road Championship was held at the Viking Raceway in Tzaneen, South Africa. The under cover carpet track set the challenge once again not making it easy for any of the racers, the high temperatures with high humidity made it even tougher than usual, none the less all the drivers took on the challenge and the best came out on top. In the 2WD and 4WD Mod Buggy classes it was Charles Hollander with the overall TQ while the Stadium, Stock Buggy and 2WD SCT classes were TQ’d by Wickus Coetzer.

SXT Racing Products tire break-in bit

SXT Racing Products’ tire break-in bit allows to sand down or smoke tires with ease. The tool is available with a 12mm hex for all 1/10 on-road, off-road and oval needs and it is also usable with 17mm hex wheels thanks to an optional adapter, allowing to work with 1/8th buggy, truggy and GT wheels. The break-in bit is just over 100mm long and made from HSS steel with a wide brass hex to keep the wheel stable and locked down with double set screws. The 17mm adapter is available separately or included with the 12mm hex brea-in bit.

Reedy Radon 2 brushed motors

Team Associated have introduced the new Reedy Radon 2 brushed motors as a replacement for the hugely popular Radon series. Added features such as dual ball bearings and adjustable timing as well as a choice of three versions make the all-new Radon 2 a powerful, reliable, economical, and versatile choice for those who prefer brushed motor power. The Radon 2 is offered in the same 17-turn/3600kV version as the original; however, 15-turn/4100kV and 19-turn/3200kV versions are now available to suit a variety of applications and speed requirements.

Schaffner B6 series waterfall fan mount

Schaffner Racing Products have introduced a new waterfall fan mount for Team Associated B6 and B6.1 based vehicles. The 3-D-printed part was developed for stand-up transmission setups and it ensures improved motor cooling for less performance fading towards the end of a run. When using the mount, most LCG battery packs will fit to the furthest back position, however standard size shorty packs will move back to just one hole position forward, giving owners nearly full adjustability with most battery packs. The fan mount is usable for B6, B6.1, T6.1, and SC6.1 kits and it is also available in a variant for laydown and layback gearboxes.

RPM Arrma 4×4 3S BLX lower suspension arms

Coming from RPM and made for Arrma’s Granite, Senton and Big Rock 4×4 3S BLX trucks are new front and rear lower suspension arms. The wishbones allow for added adjustability thanks to a second shock mount positions, they are more durable than the stock parts due to being moulded from RPM’s renown nylon composite material and they are also lighter, ensuring improved performance. The arms are available as pair for the front or the rear of the trucks and they fit the Arrma Granite 4×4, Senton 4×4 and Big Rock 4×4, replacing the original AR330443 front and AR330516 rear arms.

HRC Racing 68110DMG digital standard size servo

HRC Distribution have introduced the HRC Racing 68110DMG digital standard size servo. Developed for 1/10th scale on-road and off-road classes, the servo features double ball bearings, sturdy metal gears and it comes with a heavy-duty 22AWG receiver wire. The servo’s waterproof case allows the use in unfriendly environments, making it ideal as a replacement for standard RTR kit servos.

Motorama 2019 – Report

The Motorama 2019 was hosted at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, this past weekend. The race is actually part of a huge motorsport expo that incorporates ArenaCross racing, Car show, Go Kart racing, Quarter Midget racing, Scaling, Speed, show and beauty pageant all in one. Luckily for the racers, world-famous Scotty Ernst was on hand building both dirt tracks for 1/8th and 1/10th scale racing for all of the RC racing enthusiasts to enjoy. By taking the best 2 of 3 qualifiers to seed for the triple A-Mains, racing was action packed as both tracks were going off at the same time keeping racers that were participating in both, extremely busy. “The Start” ARMI electric off-road race – Report

The “The Start” ARMI race was held at the SDC Offroad Track in Serpong, Indonesia. The track is located close to Jakarta and the event attracted 60 entries for the 1/10th scale 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes as well as the 4WD SC Truck category. In 4WD Buggy, Bowie Ginting (Tekno) secured the TQ, tie on points with Ray Timothy (Xray). Rizky Pradana lining-up his Xray in 3rd followed by Rama Tribudiman (HB Racing) and Jason Nugroho (Xray) respectively. In the 2WD class, Rama (Team Associated) secured the 2WD class TQ after secured the first and second leg followed by Yuri Taruna (Team Associated) and Eric Kristianto (Team Associated), while Rusman Kusnowo sealed the pole for the Short Course class.
