Neumann wins A2 of 2WD in Berlin

Joern Neumann has won the second leg of the 2WD Buggy A-Main at the Euro Offroad series setting the stage for a three way battle for the overall win in Berlin going into the third Main.  The Team Durango driver took the win ahead of Team C’s Hupo Honigl and Yokomo’s Naoto Matsukura, benefiting from a mistake by the latter on lap 3 that dropped the A1 winner from the lead to fifth.

Matsukura takes first A-Main at EOS

Naoto Matsukura took a tone to tone victory in the first A-Main at the Euro Offroad Series in Berlin but the Japanese ace almost threw it away in what was a clearly dominant performance. Top Qualfier for the 2WD Buggy encounter, the Team Yokomo driver had a commanding lead over the No.2 starting Durango of Joern Neumann but with three laps to go he made a mistake that required marshaling. However such was his lead over the three way battle for second place that even with the loss of 4-seconds he was able to hold on to take albeit a narrow 6/10ths of a second win over Neumann with Hupo Honigl third and Lee Martin fourth.

Koegler & Violeau join French Nemo Racing team

The French Nemo Racing team has expanded to include two new young drivers Felix Koegler (left) and Alexandre Violeau. Felix, who at only 14 years old has already shown a lot of dexterity in driving an rc car is situated in the East of France and will represent all the Nemo Racing brands in the league 6 area. Alexandre runs in league 17 and will join Damien Dénecheau in order to promote the brands. Following his great results last year he was very impressed with the Nemo Racing package and continues through 2014.

Matsukura is 2WD Top Qualifier at EOS

Team Yokomo’s Naoto Matsukura is Top Qualifier for 2WD Buggy at the Euro Offroad Series after a ‘safe run’ in the final qualifier became the second TQ run of the day for the Japanese ace. With six drivers in with a chance of claiming pole position for the second round of the championship it was all to play for in Q4 but it was Matsukura who was seeded in the second fastest heat that came out on top.  Running in the top heat Hupo Honigl would post the second fastest time ahead of Lee Martin and Joern Neumann.  Having TQ’d the opening qualifier yesterday, fourth would help defending champion Neumann to secure second on the grid in a four way tie break with Bayer getting third, Honigl fourth and Martin fifth.

2WD quali wide open at EOS Berlin

The honour of who will be Top Qualifier in 2WD Buggy at the second round of the Euro Offroad Series is wide open going into the final qualifier after Q2 & 3 went the respective ways of Yokomo’s Naoto Matsukura and Team Xray’s Martin Bayer. Having TQ’d the opening round of qualifying yesterday, defending EOS Champion Joern Neumann had tough runs today managing only a best run of 10th fastest in Q3. EOS race winners Lee Martin and Hupo Honigl claimed second in the two qualifiers putting them both in the mix to claim the overall TQ with Tom Cockerill also in with a chance with Top 3 times in both of the 5-minute encounters.

Neumann is 4WD Top Qualifier in Berlin

Despite facing his toughest opposition yet at a Euro Offroad Series race, defending champion Joern Neumann is the 4WD Buggy Top Qualifier at the record entry second round taking place in Berlin, Germany. Having TQ’d last night’s second qualifier, the Team Durango got day 2 off to the perfect start by posting another TQ run in Q3 meaning only Yokomo’s Naoto Matsukura could deny end his 100% record of having started every EOS A-Main from pole position. Topping the opening qualifier yesterday, Matsukura could only manage 8th the final time of asking as his new team-mate Lee Martin TQ’d to secure second overall on the grid. His 9th overall TQ in 4WD Neumann will look to continue his reign over the class in tomorrow’s final and continue to be the only driver to have stood on the top step of the EOS 4WD Buggy podium.

This holder allows the racer to use an o-ring to hold the battery in place, replacing the need for tape.
