BRCA Electric Touring Nationals Rd5 – Report

BRCA Electric Touring Nationals Rd5 – Report

The final round of this season’s BRCA Touring Car series took place at West London and saw a dominating performance by Schumacher’s Elliott Harper taking the win and TQ. The two day event saw very mixed conditions with the first day being an almost a wash out with only two of the scheduled three rounds of qualifying being run on Saturday, this left the bulk of the event to become an almost one meeting with three rounds of qualifying and three finals being held on Sunday. Harper took all three rounds of qualifying and the all three legs of the A-final, finishing second was Paul Pinkney (Schumacher) getting his best result of the season, third was Chris Grainger for Team Associated.

VBC Racing Lightning FXM 1/10th formula car kit

VBC Racing have introduced the latest incarnation of the Lightning FX formula car, the Lightning FXM. With a focus on being an evolution rather than a revolution many design features were taken over from the predecessor with refinements being made to create a more versatile, easier to drive and faster car. The rear end of the car underwent the most changes with the rear pod being a complete redesign. Inspired by the Lightning 12M the FXM features a very low centre of gravity and lightweight rear pod design, with the bulkheads being made of black anodised 7075 aluminium. The assembly also features a cross brace support made from carbon fibre tubing that prevents the pod from tweaking, it shields the rear axle from dirt and debris and it also makes for longer axle bearing life.

Roy Gjemble crowned Norwegian 4WD national champ

The fourth and final round of the Norwegian National 1/10th was held this past weekend and hosted by the Trondheim RC Car Club at the astroturf track in Skogn. Unfortunately the weather, that was warm and sunny during the 2WD portion of the event, changed over night and turned into heavy rain so the 4WD race was definitely a wet race event as it rained throughout all four qualifiers. Malin Karlsen was unbeatable in qualifying and took the TQ honours after winning the two first rounds. Her buggy looked really good in the wet and in what was a switch of roles from from the 2WD event, Roy Gjemble and his Schumacher took the second spot on the A-main grid while another Schumacher driver, talented Steffen Hjortshøj, completed the top 3.

STRC release new Axial aluminium option parts

STRC release new Axial aluminium option parts

ST Racing Concepts have introduced new aluminium option parts for a range of vehicles including the SMT10, Yeti, RR Bomber and the SCX10 II. First up are the aluminium lower suspension link reinforcement plates. Designed for the use with the SMT10, Yeti and RR10 Bomber, the CNC-machined aluminium upper and lower link plates offer improved durability and looks. The plates bolt right on through the existing holes of the nylon lower links and greatly increase the durability and rigidity of the suspension. They reduce flex in the lower suspension links, allowing the suspension to soak up the bumps and jumps properly. Each pack features four aluminium plates that are in the same shape and profile as the plastic lower links with light weight cut-outs and all the necessary hardware to install them and they are available in blue, black, green, gun metal, and silver.
