The 3rd round of the Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series visited the beautiful mountain interior town of Penticton, British Columbia. The hosting PRCC Club counted a doubled number of registrations, making it the biggest event in Western Canada this season. 8 WCICS classes, including the new F1, were contested, and as the third round the season championships are showing the early leaders.

Sunday, December 8th, 2014 marked the final day of the JConcepts Indoor National Series with the tour making its’ final stop in Omaha, Nebraska. The INS is a 5 race series that travels the nation throughout the year elevating the indoor off-road scene wherever it goes. This evening the series crowned its’ 2014 overall champions in all the respective classes. The competition was one of the strongest seen to date attracting racers from coast to coast to meeting in the middle at the world famous Hobbyplex. Current INS Champion, TLR’s/JConcepts Ryan Maifield, was there to defend his crown from other elite drivers like current 4WD World Champion and Team Associated/JConcepts driver, Steven Hartson. Other notable heavy hitters were Team Associated/JConcepts’ Spencer Rivkin, Daimon Borkowicz, the Horne family, Cole Tollard, TLR/JConcepts Cody Hollis and Taylor Larsen, and Kyosho/Orion’s Jared Tebo. The field was stacked.

JConcepts’ Dirt Webs tyre is now also available in an 1/8th buggy variant. Developed by Brian Kinwald and Jason Ruona the indoor-specific tyre has already proven its performance in 1/10th buggy racing and now the clay tread is also available for the 1/8th class. The 2nd round of the 2014/15 Slovakia Cup will be held at the Hudy Racing Arena on the 13th of December in several electric on-road and off-road classes. Registration can be done here and more information are available here.
Made for the C801 and C802 is the new F1 rear anti-roll bar set from Capricorn. The multi-piece design allows for an easy adjustment using different thickness inserts of 2.3mm, 2.5mm and 2.7mm to fine-tune the roll characteristic of the chassis.

The 4th edition of the Charity Race was held at the permanent facilities of RC Landia in Scandiano, Italy with 150 entries split in four different classes. Alexander Hagberg managed to take a convincing win in the 1/12th scale category. Taking the TQ position by full points and winning the first two finals with a big margin, as well as setting a new lap record, it was a perfect weekend for the newly crowned 200mm World Champion.

Following a first teaser late last month, German company Shepherd have now released complete information on their debut entry in the competitive nitro off-road buggy class, the Bull X8. Previously an on-road only company, Shepherd have gone with a conventional design for their first ever off-road buggy. The Bull X8 is based on a hard-coated 4mm 7075 aluminium chassis, and it features aluminium suspension mounts with composite inserts to fine-tune the suspension geometry, aluminium shock absorbers with titanium-nitride coated shock shafts and 5mm carbon fibre shock towers. Included with the kit is a 3 shoe clutch with aluminium shoes, silicone-sealed ball bearings as well as a cab forward bodyshell.

This past weekend was round 2 of the Rockstar Winter Off-Road Series at Premier RC Raceway in Portland, OR. Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri made the trip up to the Pacific Northwest to get some time running on their indoor carpet facility. After just a few laps of practice on the unique US carpet surface running mandatory slick tyres, Cavalieri was already turning the fastest laps the track had ever seen and when racing started it was more of the same. With a double TQ and win in 2WD and 4WD, the only competition for the 4x World Champion was the clock.
