Awesomatix A800A alloy chassis touring car kit

Following the introduction of the A800 carbon fibre chassis car, Awesomatix now also have images and more information of the aluminium chassis variant available. Called the A800A, the car uses the same suspension and drivetrain parts but a newly designed, 2mm aluminium chassis whose thickness, machining and material makes for optimised flex characteristics while the unique convex shape not only improves longitudinal stiffness but it also adds a certain “ground effect”. More stiffness is added to the car with the help of the taller AM115 chassis stiffener, whereas the carbon car comes with the lower AM110 stiffener. Apart from these two parts both kits are identical with the carbon car being best suited for low to medium grip conditions while the alloy kit is designed for medium to high-bite surfaces. Both kits are available now.

Awesomatix A800 belt-driven touring car kit

Awesomatix A800 belt-driven touring car kit

Some weeks ago Awesomatix have introduced their forthcoming A800 electric touring car kit and following first renderings now official images of the production car are available. As mentioned before the A800 is the company’s first belt-driven car and while doing away with the shaft drivetrain of the A700 the A800 still relies on the tried and tested suspension components although kit will utilise aluminium lower A-arms over the previously used carbon fibre offerings. Part of the suspension package are the rebuildable D2.1 rotation dampers that allow to maintain and tune shock absorbers if needed.

Awesomatix A800 belt-driven touring car kit

Following a first teaser Awesomatix have released more information and images of their forthcoming A800 electric touring car kit. Looking at the renderings the new car sports several proven Awesomatix design features such as sheet material lower A-arms, rotary dampers and dual link-type upper arms but the A800 will utilise a belt drivetrain over the previous shaft drive design. The car is based on a newly design chassis with symmetrical cutouts and recessed areas for optimised flex characteristics while the centralised position of the belts greatly reduces the chance of the chassis to become tweaked under load. Additionally both the motor and battery sit nearly 4mm closer to the centre line compared to other cars on the market to allow for a very centralised weight distribution.

Awesomatix RFG rear floating gearbox set

Coming from the mind of Awesomatix’ Josh Cyrul is the RFG rear floating gearbox set for the A700 touring car. Designed for the use with the MM2 motor mount in flex mode 4 the system further reduces the unwanted torque steer effect caused by the longitudinal motor position as it does the FFG system up front. The set can be run with the C24 top deck and even without, in case more flex is needed.
