LRP have announced the release of a number of new additions to their VTEC LiPo range, including this massive 8000mAh 7.4V pack. Also releasing a 5300mAh 7.2V pack and a 1300mAh 11.1V pack, these new packs offer extremely high capacity, an unbelievable 25C discharge rate and less weight than standard NiMH or NiCd batteries. Featuring a soft casing, each pack comes complete with power plug and a balancer port.

LRP electronic have announced the date for the 11th annual LRP Touring Car Masters, which will be held from March 28th to 30th 2008 in Eppelheim (Heidelberg/Germany). The LRP-TCM is regarded as the most competitive Touring Car race worldwide apart from the IFMAR World-Championships nowadays. 270 drivers including international topstars from Europe, the USA and Japan will make this the unofficial Indoor World’s in 2008. Past events saw World Champions David Spashett, Surikarn Chaidajsuriya, Atsushi Hara, Mark Pavidis, Matt Francis, Brian Kinwald, Jukka Steenari, Marc Rheinard, Andy Moore and Masami Hirosaka fighting for the glory. LRP have announced the release of their all new Speed Master 2 tires, created to help make the company’s Shark-18 perform on tarmac and other road surfaces. This tire is suitable for the Shark-18 Race Monster Truck, Nitro Monster or ATV and has been developed to meet the needs of on road enthusiasts by providing high-levels of grip, easy handling and high traction in both wet and dry conditions. LRP have released the new Quantum Competition 3 electronic speed controller, that claims to have 60% lower resistance than the previous QC2. This improvement has been achieved through the use of matched latest generation FETs and military-grade components, while an improved 6.0V/3.5A BEC ensures reliable power delivery to all available servos, receivers and personal transponders. To keep the temperature of the speedo as low as possible the new QC3 features LRP’s secret IceDrive Design that ensures everything stays cool.

LRP has sent us notification that for the third year in a row their LRP Brushless team driver Alberto García came out on top, taking Spanish National title in both 2WD and 4WD off road. The 3rd round of the Spanish Nationals took place in Valladolid which saw though conditions for everyone due to rain, wind and a bumpy surface. Alberto however could stand up against the competition and bring home both the titles with one round still left to be run.

We are a little bit late with the details about the VTEC brand expanding its tire line by releasing new foam tires, but we’re catching up on our LRP news and felt that while we did briefly mention it earlier this month its worth going into a little more detail about them. These tires have been made using high quality Japanese foam and are suitable for use on both gas and electric powered cars. Sold pre glued, they come available in a number of different shores from 35 to 45.
