Alex Hardt switches to Novarossi

Alex Hardt switches to Novarossi

Reigning German Junior Champion Alex Hardt has made the switch to Novarossi for the upcoming season. German Novarossi distributor, Shepherd Micro Racing, will be supporting this young talented driver with the latest Novarossi off-road engines. Alex will race all important national races as well as some selected international events like the European Championship A, the Neo11 Race and the International Warm-up in Bischofsheim. His goals are well defined:

I would like to defend the German Junior Champion title and achieve a top result at all races that I attend. I choose Novarossi engines because the performance is outstanding. After a few test it was clear that I can achieve my goals for the 2011 season with these premium engines. Shepherd Micro Racing supports me in the best way possible and I’m looking forward to working together with them closely.

Toy Fair 2011 – Novarossi

Novarossi Plus 4

We stopped by the Novarossi stand to be given the run through of the new additions and updates to their line of engines. While the 2010 line of engines will continue to be sold, the new additions include the Plus 4 buggy engine which features a new sleeve with a lower and newly shaped exhaust port. Also internally there is a steel plate on the back plate for reduced friction while externally and most noticeably there is an all new low centre of gravity cooling head which comes down over the top of the crankcase for better heat dissipation and as there is less material required around the bottom of the head, and because it has been strategically machined, it is very lightweight. There will also be an S version which will come supplied with a front ceramic bearing, in addition to the rear ceramic bearing that comes as standard.

Yannick Aigoin parts with Novarossi

Yannick Aigoin parts with Novarossi

Former European Champion Yannick Aigoin has contacted us to officially confirm current rumours that he is ending his partnership with Novarossi engines, joining Losi team mate Martin Bayer who too recently ended his association with the Italian marque.

After many rumours, I want to confirm that I’ll not extend my partnership with Novarossi. I’d like to thank them very much for this experience and the great support they provided since I joined them at end of 2008. I’d also like to say that I’m proud of the technical and commercial work we’ve done together and to wish them all the best for the future. Now it is time for new challenges about which I’ll give you more details soon.

Novarossi 2660 & 2084 tune pipes

Novarossi 2660 & 2084 tune pipes

Novarossi have introduced 2 new tuned pipes for the 2010 season, the first of which is the EFRA 2660 which is for the 1:10 Touring category. This new pipe may look similar to the last one, but some internal changes means that on the track this new pipe performs better throughout the rev range. Also new for the 1:8 Off-road category is the EFRA 2084, where the company’s quest for better drivability and lower fuel consumption resulted in this new tuned pipe. Falling into the ‘Super Strong’ range, it is more resistant to the rough world of 1:8 scale Off-road competition. Expect to see both in mid March.

Toy Fair 2010 – Novarossi

Novarossi Buggy Plus4 Team

Having announced their two main releases ahead of time, Novarossi ran us through their complete line up of new engines for 2010. As we know the two main entrants are the Toro Nero Team and Buggy Plus 4 Team, both engines based on the previous versions but featuring some upgrades that their factory drivers were using last year. Both buggy engines sport the compact combustion chamber, essentially a dished piston with corresponding button that helps focus the combustion for better fuel economy, something team driver Adam Drake used to good effect at the Nitromania X event, getting 15 minutes from a tank. Apart from sporting a ceramic main bearing the engines have some hand work to the crankshaft and liner. Completing the new buggy engine updates, the new S21P5 XLT features the same lighter cooling head from the Team engines and has reworked internal fluid dynamics to improve the fuel delivery.
