It seems that Hot Bodies are very close to releasing the follow up to their Lightning 2 Pro, with the release of some teaser information on their all new D8. Scheduled to be announced at this weeks Shizuoka Hobby show, little more is currently know about the car but rumor has it that their website will contain further information, along with pictures, very soon.

Kyosho America now offers custom foam bumpers for the Inferno GT and are specially cut to fit the contours of the two most popular bodies, the Aston Martin DBR9 and the Ferrari F430. The high-density foam bumper replaces the smaller stock unit for additional chassis protection, and it better supports the nose of the detailed bodies, preventing vibration and scraping against the ground. Kyosho have announced the release of a new kit and body combination for their Spada 09, 1/12th scale gas powered chassis. The new combo comes with their all new high downforce RD-12EX, a body shell that improves rear grip and overall handling characteristics.

The first round of the Austrian Nationals were run at the 300m long Kirchberg track, under dry and sunny conditions. Qualification saw the pole position go to Serpent racer Gerhard Kandelhart, with Xray driver Manuel Singer in 2nd and Stefan Mayerhofer in 3rd. At the start of the final, Pittner, Tomaschko and Kandelhart were able to quickly pull ahead of the main pack, while due to a driving mistake, Singer had an off and dropped back down the field. Back on the track and the Xray driver began to to catch those ahead and was able to take the lead and the win, finishing ahead of team mate Martin Pittner in 2nd and Daniel Tomaschko in 3rd.

Held last weekend, the Tamiya Asia Cup offered a unique opportunity for Singaporean radio control racing fans to “strut their stuff” at this event which offered different variations of racing activities. This was also an opportunity for diehard race enthusiasts from all over Asia to congregate and compete against each other for a place in the finals. “Apart from encouraging Tamiya R/C owners to meet-up and exchange ideas and racing strategies, the overall winners of the respective Asia Cup categories will get to compete at the Tamiya Asia Cup Finals which will be held in Kulala Lumpur later this year, to qualify for the Tamiya World Cup in Shizuoka, Japan,” explained Andrew Law, Director of Stargek Pte Ltd, Tamiya’s Official Exclusive Distributor for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Caster Racing have officially announced the first production electric powered 1/8 scale buggy. Shown on this site a number of weeks ago, the Fusion EX-1R was entirely designed in the United States by fellow racers and engineers. The goal of Caster Racing was to be able to incorporate as many existing parts from the ZX-1R Nitro version so that it would simplify ordering parts for customers and the ability for hobby stores to carry less skus. The expected release date is June 5th for the sport version, that will be almost ready to run, while the team kit version will be available shortly afterwards with a truggy version following.
