RC Maker A800MMX SlimFlex top deck set

RC Maker have introduced their new SlimFlex top deck set for the A800MMX and MMXA. The MMX/MMXA top deck features two separate short top decks, drastically reducing the leverage on the carbon. This means the top decks need to be narrower and thinner than normal to achieve similar flex. Also the flex of the top decks front and rear is entirely symmetrical, so in order to achieve the optimum flex point, the car needs different flex settings front and rear to achieve optimum balance, which is to shift the flex point forward of centre. RC Maker’s SlimFlex top deck has this built in. The designers have optimised the profile of the top deck such that with the same ST019 flex setting, the flex point is shifted forward to provide the forward bias flex point that was achieved in their MMCX top deck.

RC Maker CentraFlex BD10 top deck & post set

RC Maker have introduced their new CentraFlex top deck and post set for the Yokomo BD10 mid motor touring car. Conventionally in mid motor setups as seen on the BD10, the front of the top deck is entirely split in order to be able to slide the top deck over the front belt. This provides a significant amount of flex to the front of the car only, creating quite an imbalance in the top deck’s flex characteristics. The CentraFlex has been developed to slide in from the side under the belts, and due to the single sided design, can be joined in front of the spur gear to prevent excessive front top deck and bulkhead flex, bringing back the balance of front to rear flex provided by the top deck. As well as this, RC Maker have also added an additional post in front of the spur, to add more options when tuning the chassis’ flex. By installing or removing the flanged bearings either side of the spur gear, owners can change the flex point of the car instantly, either moving it forwards or backwards to adjust the balance of the car.

RC Maker T4’20 carbon fibre floating electronics plate

RC Maker have introduced their Xray T4 2020 floating electronics weight plate in a carbon fibre variant. Weighing in at 12g for the set, 10g of that being close to the centre of the chassis with 2g being the carbon plate, the set is adding minimal weight to the motor side of the chassis. The plate attaches to the often unused antenna mount hole but if owners still want to use this antenna mount, they can use an extra long screw through the lower weight, and thread the antenna mount on-top. Another added bonus is that the construction makes it easy to change chassis or clean the car as the receiver, transponder and fan are simply extracted by undoing one screw.

RC Maker T4’20 GeoCarbon shock towers

Coming from RC Maker are new GeoCarbon series shock towers for the Xray T4 2020 mid-motor touring car. Available for the front and rear of the car, the shock towers feature a dual-sided GeoCarbon finish and they are 3mm thick with a re-designed profile to introduce a marginal amount of flex, giving the car more traction, which is very often highly favourable for all asphalt racing, as well as low-medium traction carpet tracks. The towers are available mimicking the standard shock geometry and they also come as -3mm variant, allowing to access the new lower A-arm shock mounting position that can be an advantage in higher grip track conditions.

RC Maker BD10 GeoCarbon bumper plate & battery brace

RC Maker have introduced new GeoCarbon carbon fibre optionals for the Yokomo BD10 touring car. First up is a bumper plate with stopper that sports a stylish, stealth and innovative design. This support contacts the bulkheads and prevents impacts from snapping the main chassis and are very important. The design includes a 5mm brace which sits below the plate, raising it to the correct height and significantly increasing the strength of the whole assembly. Upon resting, there is a 0.2mm gap between the bulkheads and the support, to prevent any rubbing and tweaking. This support will only be active in a crash. This provides the optimal solution to keeping the chassis on the brand new BD10 safe, whilst looking great at the same time.

RC Maker T4’20 floating electronics weight plate

RC Maker have introduced their new floating electronics weight plate for the Xray T4 2020 touring car. The plate puts weight where it is needed most, to get the car up to he minimum weight and balanced. The set includes a carbon shim which floats it 0.5mm off the chassis from near to the centre of the car, meaning the plate itself has minimal to no impact on the flex of the chassis. On top of the plate, there is a 10g of brass weight to secure it in place. The plate attaches to the often unused antenna mount hole. If drivers still want to use this antenna mount, they can use an extra long screw through the lower weight, and thread the antenna mount on-top. The plate itself is 1mm thick and weighs in at 12g. The set coming in at 22g is a brilliant way to meet the limit, balance the car and have no impact on the flex characteristics of the chassis at the same time. Another added bonus, is owners can change chassis or clean the car, and simply remove the receiver, transponder and fan simply by undoing one screw. If drivers are after more weight for the car, RC Maker have a 1.5mm option plate available weighing in at 20g which can either replace the 1mm plate to bring the overall weight up to 30g, or added to the 1mm plate to make a total of 2.5mm, bringing it all the way up to 42g. The set comes packaged in a high quality black magnetic lid box with RC Maker logo on a clear front window, ensuring the plate is kept in perfect condition in transit.

RC Maker T4’20 CentraFlex top decks

RC Maker have introduced their new CentraFlex top deck for the Xray T4 2020 mid-motor touring car. Based off RC Maker’s Awesomatix MMCX top deck, it builds on the brand’s foundations of believing in centrally located flex on touring cars. Several of the latest mid motor cars have entirely split front top decks. The reason for this is so that they can wrap around the front belt and still be symmetrical. However testing has shown that this “split” design can cause an imbalance in flex characteristics which was never before been an issue on rear motor cars, however on today’s Mid Motor cars can cause the car to be inconsistent and nervous, whilst having reduced on power and high speed steering. The CentraFlex is joined in-front of the spur gear, providing a much more centralised flex point. RC Maker have proven the “single side” design over the spur gear to be a consistent, tweak free solution and in testing found both physically and handling wise, the car was very balanced on left and right corners. As well as handling benefits, the design brings several fitment benefits such as increased clearance between the front face of the motor and the top deck for when the car is under high flex load as well as increased clearance between the edge of the motor and the top deck to fit all brands of motors, and all classes and sizes of pinion/spur combinations without any grinding of top deck or motor. Also installation and removal is much easier while providing a more durable design around the motor. The CentraFlex top deck is available in 2mm and 1.6mm thicknesses.

RC Maker 3D Pro ESC wire organiser

RC Maker have introduced their new ESC wire organiser for the use with most brushless electronic speed controllers. Wiring is difficult, especially on the new mid motor chassis with the ESC behind the motor. The belt is in the way and there really isn’t much room. That is why the designers have gone and made it a whole lot easier for the drivers. 3-D-printed from high quality composite material, the wire organiser keeps all three motor wires, plus the sensor wire bunched together, and stuck down. The part is also very useful for keeping the wires organised in 1/12th on-road, and 1/10th off-road chassis and it accepts any wires, 12 gauge or smaller, and all sensor wires, flat or bunched. The organisers is usable floating or taped down using optional double sided tape.
