Micha Widmeier renews with Schumacher

Up and coming young German driver, Micha Widmaier, has re-signed with Schumacher Racing and CS Electronics. Micha is the current German junior champion in 2WD with his KF2. Just two weeks ago Micha raced a prototype of Schumacher’s new CAT K2 4WD buggy at the EOS in Nurburgring and won the B final against some world class drivers. Micha plans to race at most of the big races in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland next year, including EOS and Euros. Micha said”:

I am very happy that I can drive for Schumacher and CS in 2016. I will give my best at the races.”

Schumacher CAT-K2 4wd buggy

Schumacher CAT-K2 4wd buggy

At this weekend’s 2015/16 EOS season opener at the Nurburgring in Germany newly crowned European Champion and top Schumacher driver Michal Orlowski is debuting the new Schumacher 4WD Buggy, called CAT-K2. The main goal in developing the car has been transferring the weight distribution concept from their 2WD on to the new 4WD buggy, keeping the motor centred and moving it as forward as possible while obtaining a narrower car. The layout also allows the user to choose from 5 different battery positions, using a saddle pack or a shorty. The transmission is now completely straight and allows the use of the FAB (Front Adjustable Brake) System, while on the suspension only some small details have been changed.

I’m delighted to be a part of the Schumacher team for 2016/17 – in my opinion they currently have the best cars on the market for European racing and I can’t wait to get them out on track. I’d like to thank Robin Schumacher, Mark Musgrove and Trish Neal for helping to make this move possible and I will do all I can to re-pay their faith in me.

Schumacher KF2 high roll centre kit

Schumacher KF2 high roll centre kit

Schumacher’s new and simple high roll centre kit for the Cougar KF2 raises the rear inboard hinge pin height in order to alter the rear roll centre settings. The option part stiffens the car in roll which keeps the rear end of the buggy flatter through corners, and it is recommended for high grip surfaces.

CS Electronic K1 Aero front motor carbon fibre chassis

CS Electronic K1 Aero front motor carbon fibre chassis

German Schumacher distributor CS Electronic have a front motor chassis for the Cat K1 Aero 4WD buggy available soon. Designed to shift the motor to the front, the chassis, cut from 2.5mm carbon fibre, will make for a more controllable handling and improved balance especially on high-bite surfaces such as astro turf, carpet, grass and sugared clay. By moving the motor 18mm forward the chassis is usable with both saddle pack and shorty LiPo batteries and it utilises an optional Cougar KF2 rear end for a more planted driving feeling and easier toe and anti-squat adjustments.

Schumacher Cougar KF2 mid motor conversion

Schumacher Cougar KF2 mid motor conversion

New from Schumacher comes the mid motor conversion for the Cougar KF2 2WD buggy. The conversion moves the motor cluster back by 19mm and puts the LiPo battery in front of the motor. The included carbon fibre chassis accepts all motor positions, standard, low grip and mid as well as all LiPo layouts. The shift gives the KF2 more rear traction and allows the power to be transmitted easier into forward bite and acceleration. This means that racing on low and medium traction conditions such as dirt and sandy/dusty astro just got easier. The chassis accepts normal height shorty LiPos, to maximise traction on very low grip conditions a low profile battery could be used. The body requires a small modification to clear the spur and side gear cover and a modified body is readily available.
