Schumacher Pre assembled Cat SX

Schumacher have been in touch to tell us of the availability of 2 new versions of the Cat SX. First up is the LiPo Phil Booth signature version, which has been fully assembled by the legendary maker of champions Phil Booth. Phil assembled the original Cat that took Masami Hirosaka to World Championship fame as a young man and has been building winning cars ever since. These cars come set up and ready to win so make a perfect gift for any aspiring champion. For those who want to spend a little less there is the LiPo S1 Composite assembled version, which are almost Ready to Race. Just install your choice of electronics and spray the body to your own design. The S1 Composite material is extremely tough and has the same look as Carbon Fibre but is a little more flexible so offers easier handling while also being easier to set up.

Schumacher Cat SX body off shots

Schumacher Cat SX

We brought you pictures of the new Schumacher Cat SX 4wd buggy last week and as promised the British company have released some pictures showing the car with the body shell off. The first thing you notice about the car is the 3 belt drive train that is mounted very high in the car, above the battery and radio gear. This allows the motor to be mounted along the centre line and it is said to have an adjustable internal transmission ratio to optimise the car for brushed or brushless motors. Also according to the features list the motor rotates the same direction as the wheels which is said to create a car with superb jumping responsiveness and no torque steer effect, as is common with shaft drive cars.

Toy Fair – Schumacher Racing

Toy Fair - Schumacher & CS Electronic

So we are here at this years fair on setup day and we have had a look around, first coming to the Schumacher booth and try as we might, we couldnt get to see the new Schumacher buggy. A closely guarded secret, the buggy was present but was only to be shown to key distributors at the show. We were told previously that we would get to see it but we asked again and were once more told ‘No’. The stand did feature a large poster for the new car which reveals the name to be the CAT SX and it should be available around May.
