Answer-RC Xray 808 CVD Axles

New from Answer-RC are these red anodised CNC machined 7075 Aero CVD axles for the Xray XB808 that claim to massively reduce rotating mass in the drive train of your vehicle, giving quicker spool up, reduced braking time and sharper handling. The Answer-RC CVD axles have been specially machined with additional CVD pin holes meaning that as the fit becomes sloppy they can simply be rotated round to the next set of holes.

Smokem Racing T3LP chassis plate

Smokem Racing T3LP chassis plate

Following on from their previous release, the 416LP chassis, Smokem Racing has developed a LiPo specific chassis for the Xray T3. The 2.3mm thick chassis has been designed and thoroughly tested to give the best flex properties with unnecessary cell cutouts removed to deliver a design with balanced lateral flex. And with an overall width of only 94mm, scrubbing during hard cornering is minimized. The result is awesome corner speed and stability over a wide range of conditions. Two battery positions are provided so racers can choose where they want to position their LiPo’s, resulting in a symmetrical and balanced chassis with no additional weights required. With both longitudinal and lateral battery tape slots, this chassis accepts all LiPo’s, with or without humps, without additional retainers that may induce tweak.

Xray Column – World Championship practice

Xray Column – World Championship practice

The 41st installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column he talks about this year’s Nürnberg Toy Fair and event that was immediately followed by the Worlds Warmup in Pattaya.

I left Nürnberg on Saturday, drove home late at night and on Sunday morning I picked up the already packaged bags and went to the airport to fly to Bangkok for the 1/8 Off-road World Championship Warm-up. I have arrived at the track Monday afternoon so I still managed to run one practice round and then went to the hotel. The number of entries was not as large as the previous Buggy Party in December, but still most of the top drivers were present so we could expect a high competition level.

Exotek XR3 Xray T3 LiPo chassis

Exotek XR3 Xray T3 LiPo chassis

Exotek Racing have introduced the Exotek XR3, Xray T3 conversion. This no holds barred multi-adjustment LiPo chassis features unique CNC manufactured stainless steel weights allowing your LiPo battery to be positioned to have equal left and right balance without the need to add lead weight and without raising the battery up higher. The XR3 chassis is designed and tested to equalize lateral flex resulting in much more predictable handling. Removing the 6 NiMh battery slots effectively stiffens the chassis so they have had to reduce the thickness to 2mm to put a little flex back into the chassis for improved traction. The chassis has also been narrowed to 91mm wide, for less chassis scrub through corners for better corner speed. Featuring a multitude of battery mounting options, it accepts 7.4 volt flat bottom LiPos such as Thunder Power 5000, Intellect IB, Orion Platinum Series or similar sized LiPo batteries.
