Avid RC Xray 808 Revolution bearing

Avid RC Xray 808 Revolution bearing

Avid RC are proud to announce the release of the Avid 5x12x4 Revolution bearing for the Xray 808 1/8th scale buggy clutch. What makes this bearing unique is that it has a rubber seal on one side while having a metal shield on the other. Rubber seals are great protectors against dirt but they offer a little more friction due to the tighter seal and thats why these bearings only use one. Xray choose a larger bearing for their new buggy to withstand the load and in doing so they actually made this bearing specific for RC, meaning that nothing else in the world uses this size. Typically this means that the bearing will cost more, however Avid are keeping their industry changing price point of just $1.

XRAY Column – Worlds Preparations

Xray Column

The 17th installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj talks about the teams trip to this years TITC event.

Arriving a few days earlier before the race gave us a great opportunity to prepare, and having all the other factory teams at the track as well gave us the chance to do some benchmarking. The track was prepared very well, so after charging the first batteries and getting the tires ready, we were ready to race! I was the first one to get track time, and was pleasantly surprised not only with my own driving but especially about the handling of the car. I needed no marshalling at all and the car with basic set-up and new tires was very calm with a lot of steering and traction, but mainly it was super-easy to drive.

Joining Team Xray has been a huge step in my racing career, I have had my eye on Xray for a while now and it is a huge relief joining and working together with such a high performance racing team. I had tested the T2008 and its smoothness and consistency was the first thing that made me know that Xray is going to make a big impact on my racing and take me another step further.
