Hakansson wins Swedish Nitro Series

Another report from Xray, this time its from last weekends Swedish Nitro Series and Swedish Cup, both events run on the same weekend at the high-speed track in Ã–rebro. Once again rain played a role in the outcome of the event with a short downpour before the main SNS final causing drivers to change setups and adjust strategies. At the beginning of the final there was some initial chaos but after a couple of laps it settled down and Xray driver Niklas Hakansson pulled away to a clear victory with 4 laps in front of 2nd placed Serpent driver Christoffer Hallborg with another Xray of Brandt Mikael in 3rd.

Indonesian EP 1/10 Nationals Rd1

Xray are reporting on the 1st round of the Indonesian Electric Touring car Nationals that took place last weekend at the 1/8 scale super track in BSD city area. In qualifying Xray racer Yung Yung showed great racing skills by taking the TQ spot in rubber, while team mate Didi took TQ in foam and second spot on the grid in rubber.

Unfortunately the weather was not cooperative and it was raining lightly right before the mains. Racers and organizers decided to run the finals before the track became too wet. Right after the first leg of the A-final foam tire, the rain poured heavily and the organizer had to void the result for the final, and therefore the results from the qualifications counted.

Torkildsen takes Rd1 of Norwegian Champs

Another report from Xray, this time from the first round of the 1/8th TT Norwegian National Championships that were held last weekend. Xray driver Morten Thorkildsen won his semi final to take the number 1 spot for the final where he was able to pull away and stretch out a lead and despite running out of fuel 100 meters before the end, could take the win in front of Losi 8ight racer Viggo Andreassen in 2nd and Kyosho racer Rune Karlsen in 3rd.

Robert Pietsch wins German South Rd3

German South Rd3

Robert Pietsch continues to win in the South of Germany as the 3rd round of the regional championships took place last weekend in Rosenheim. Qualifying on Saturday and Sunday resulted in Robert Pietsch taking the TQ spot on his home track with Thomas GÃ¼nsel in 2nd and Sebastian Feller in 3rd, all 3 drivers racing the Xray NT1. At the start of the main final, Robert took off into the lead leaving GÃ¼nsel and Feller to battle it out for the 2nd step on the podium, eventually being decided when Feller had a coming together with another car, dropping him back, but still managed to recover to 3rd behind the winner Pietsch and 2nd placed GÃ¼nsel.

Michal Bok wins Rd2 of Czech Nats

Xray have a report from last weekends 2nd round of the Czech Nationals that were run on the small but technical Blansko track. In qualifying it was Martin KoÅ™Ãnek that took the top spot, heading an Xray NT1 lock out of the top 4 with Martin Bayer in 2nd, Michal Bok in 3rd and Martin Pater in 4th. In the race, after some confusion at the start, pole man KoÅ™Ãnek was the first retirement with engine trouble, which left Michal Bok to take the win from Martin Pater and Martin Bayer in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Teemu Leino wins Euros Warm up race

Xray are reporting on their site from last weekends European Championship warm up race held in France in the small city Montbrison, not far from Lyon. Thursday free practice had been lost due to rain but the weather picked up Friday lunch time for the rest of the weekend and so the racers could get some practice runs in, prior to Saturdays qualifying. Teemu Leino set the pace in qualifying for Xray while Tamiya racer Loic Jasmin was 2nd with another Xray in 3rd driven by AurÃ©lien Threhout, in fact 8 of the 10 finalists drove Xray.

Teemu was unbeatable in the Sunday’s finals and won all three rounds. He showed not only the car’s performance but also his driving skills especially in the first final when he tried a not-so-good additive and was sliding around the track for the first 3 laps; however, he did not give anyone a chance to pass him and after few laps he was able to pull away. Jilles showed his enormous talent as well and he finished in overall 2nd position from his 8th qualifier post. Bart Wubben was lucky in the finals as well and finished 3rd from his 9th place and showed that he is the driver that would join the top drivers very soon.

KM Racing Xray NT1 Options

~~Japan~~ Hong Kong based KM Racing have released some great new performance parts for the new Xray NT1 200mm. First up is this high performance 2mm steel ventilated brake disk which provides excellent stopping power, even under the toughest of conditions, and which is also suitable for a wide range of other cars too. Also from KM Racing is the release of two different 2.5mm thick carbon plates for both the front and rear body mounts, to be used in place of the body stays that come as standard with the car. The front plate also sports a hole to mount your transponder.

Atomic CVDs for X-Ray M18 Pro

Atomic RC, the small scale optional specialists, have announced the release of these CVD sets for the Xray M18 Pro. Available in a complete set, these blue anodised universal drive shafts are also available to buy seperately in pairs and replace the standard versions that come with the car. We have shown you the Xray versions before and cant see the difference between the 2 except that the Atomic RC version may have more bling factor and are perhaps cheaper.
