Yokomo BD7-2015 aluminium chassis

Yokomo BD7-2015 aluminium chassis

Yokomo introduce an aluminium main chassis for the BD7-2015 kit. Optimised for high-grip surfaces such as carpet the chassis will prevent traction rolling as it not only lowers the centre of gravity but it also makes for a stiffer chassis construction. The chassis, that was used by Ronald Völker to win the final round of the Asian Onroad Championships and the opening round of the 2014/15 ETS, will feature chamfered silver edges for that luxury look and it becomes available by mid-January 2015.

Making use of the iconic “YZ” name the buggy is designed especially for today’s high-grip surfaces such as astro turf, carpet and sugared clay. By using a super-low centre-of-gravity motor mount and gearbox, the buggy features a dramatically changes balance, resulting in a reduction of traction rolls on high-grip surfaces and improved overall stability of the car. An redesigned steering with the bellcranks facing towards the rear makes for a more direct steering response compared to conventional designs and the hard-coated, low-friction anodised aluminium shock bodies lead to smoother shock absorbing movements which allows better driving characteristics.

Yokomo YRF 001W rear friction tube damper spec kit

Yokomo YRF 001W rear friction tube damper spec kit

The Yokomo YRF Formula 001W competition formula chassis kit has been updated with the new rear friction tube damper system which is based on the same system that has been tried and battle-tested on the R12C3.1 1/12th scale kit. By outfitting the 001W with this type of suspension system the overall weight is reduced and the side-to-side balance has improved, allowing better control and sharper turn manoeuvres. The kit comes with two types of front suspension arms to support both foam and rubber tyres with the wide specification suspension arms are used with foam tyres to achieve higher corner speeds, while the narrow specification suspension arms are used with rubber tyres to make for a more scale appearance.
