New apparel items from Novarossi

Novarossi have introduced some new apparel items today beginning with this new pit towel. Made from a tough type of cotton, it sports the brands blue colour and also features an homage to their 11 world championship wins. Secondly is the new 27 year anniversary t-shirt, made in blue and sporting a graphic of the Italian country in the ‘Tri-colore’ to emphasize their Italian origin. Last but not least is a new Novarossi patch measuring just 6x6cm makes it ideal to stitch onto your racing clothing to show off your brand loyalty.

Italian 1/5 scale bike championship Rd2

The second round of the Italian 1/5 scale bike championships was used as preparation race for the World Championships in Lostallo/Switzerland come August. 40 drivers fought out the race in the three classes Nitro, Stock Bike and Superbike. In the nitro category it was Andrea Ottina who was able to claim the highest spot on the podium followed by Massimiliano Ciccacci in second place and Tradii Rolando in third place.

Serpent Cobra-Be electric buggy

Serpent got in touch to show us first pictures of their upcoming Cobra-Be 1/8 scale electric 4WD buggy. With the Serpent Cobra nitro buggy got launched in middle of 2010, followed by the Serpent Cobra-T Truggy in May 2011 now World Champion Billy Easton created another masterpiece, based on his longtime experience in top-level off-road racing. The Serpent Cobra-Be follows the same design philosophy as the nitro-powered Serpent buggy and shares many of the same components as well. The whole central section with battery-slots, speed controller and receiver holder, servo and motor mount, chassis plate, rear wing/wing mount and the body shell are the key design elements of the new Cobra-Be.

Shepherd Micro Racing release the optional rear drive shafts for the Velox V10. The super lightweight shafts are CNC-machined from high-quality German aluminium and hardcoated to increase durability. Compared to the standard CVDs they are about 35 percent lighter and help to reduce the rotating mass of the drivetrain. To make use of the parts optional wheel axles for dog bones are needed. The drive shafts are available separately or asĀ  set including the needed wheel axles.

They are slightly stiffer than the company’s silicone wire/tube cables but provide a cleaner look and neat wire management. Available in nine sizes from 50mm up to 275mm covering most applications ranging from touring cars up to buggies and trucks.

STRC Slash 4×4 GT-8/rally cross conversion kit

We showed you first pictures of STRC’s GT-8 rally cross conversion kit for the Traxxas Slash 4×4 before and now it is here. Designed to keep the general layout of the Slash and retaining a certain ground clearance the converted truck is able to run both in the parking lot and backyard, given the correct tyre choice. Due to the lightweight design the GT-8 offers a huge weight saving compared to a converted 1/8 scale buggy as the STRC converted vehicle weights at around 2320g to 2440g depending on the battery whereas a converted buggy easily breaks the 3600g mark. The kit contains a CNC-machined aluminium HD front bumper, bumper posts, front and rear lower hinge-pin block, bumper/gearbox brace, 17mm wheel adapters and nuts, as well as a 3mm graphite upper bumper hold down plate as well as all needed screws and hardware. Additionally needed are 1/8 scale GT/Rally Cross tyres and a suitable body shell. The conversion kit is available in blue, gun metal, silver and red anodising. Also available is a graphite low profile front body mount for bodies that have a lower profile front nose. The plate drops the front body mounting height by 6mm and using Traxxas Rustler/Stampede battery hold down posts by more than 10mm.

Serpent 966 front upper suspension conversion kit

Serpent release conversion set for the front upper suspension to enable a newly developed geometry package for the 966. It moves the inner pivot-point of the upper arm more towards the outside allowing for the use of a very short upper arm giving a better steering feeling and an even easier to control front end. Roll-centre spacers and Nylon inserts help to adjust the front end geometry depending on the track conditions.
