At the opening round of the TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series presented by Horizon Hobby in Poznan, Poland it was Dustin Evans who kicked off qualifying at the top of the time sheets. With the first half of the day set aside for 2WD qualifying the Team Losi Racing ace was the only driver to record 17 laps taking his Orion powered TLR22 to a 17/5:18.462 run ahead of the Durangos of Joern Neumann and Hupo Honigl.

Having set the pace in 2WD Buggy practice, Team Durango’s Joern Neumann went on to also top 4WD Buggy on day 1 of the TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series season opener in Poznan, Poland. The defending champion of both classes, the German was in a league of his own setting a blistering pace of 52.974 over three laps compared with the second fastest time of team-mate Hupo Hönigl who posted a best run of 54.290.

Joern Neumann got his title defense of the TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series presented by Horizon Hobby off to a positive start as he put his Durango top of the time sheets in practice for the opening round of season No.2 of the series which got underway today in Poznan, Poland. Setting the fastest three consecutive laps, making him top seed for tomorrow’s four rounds of qualifying, the German outpaced the Team Losi Racing pairing of Dustin Evans and Darren Bloomfield who set the 2nd and 3rd fastest times respectively.

The 2012/13 season of the 1/10th electric off-road Swedish Indoor Winter Series recently took off and the 2WD class saw a record entry of 53 drivers. Kyosho driver David Ronnefalk made a first appearance with the new RB6 2WD buggy and after some initial experiments with the setup David was able to grab third position for the finals just behind Otto Ausfelt and Oskar Levin. The A-finals saw two race wins from David who took the overall victory in front of TLR’s Oskar Levin and Otto Ausfelt. The 4WD class was a much easier affair for the Kyosho driver as he was able to win the first three qualifiers and took TQ with Niclas Månsson managing to take the final qualifier. The first A-final saw a tough battle between David and Niclas who both suffered from mechanical problems in the last lap but they still managed to cross the finish line with Niclas taking the win in front of David. A-final two and three were and all-David affair, he took the win in both and therefore the overall victory in the 4WD in front of Team Associated driver Niclas Månsson and Kyosho team mate Christoffer Svensson.

The recent fourth round of the Malaysia electric touring car nationals saw a record entry for the Superstock 13.5T boosted class and it was Spec-R R1 driver Chong who won the first round of qualifiers with a time even faster than most Prostock 10.5T drivers achieved. Round number two went to VBC Wildfire pilot Michael Lo only to be beaten by VBC Racing Asia driver Jeremy Wong who took the fastest time of the day in round three with an 18laps 5:01.873 run. Come the finals the heaven opened its doors and the meeting was washed away meaning the qualifying results would count handing Jeremy Wong and the VBC Wildfire the overall win. Sharin came in second with Michael Lo taking the last spot on the podium.

The non-profit Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series (WCICS) announce the kick-off of their 2012/13 season. The 3 day races, hosted by 8 different clubs, are over the winter months of October to March and attract a wide range of racers from beginners up to international super stars like Paul Lemieux, Ty Tessman, Brian Bodine and Peter Robinson. WCICS runs eight different classes including Tamiya Mini, 1/12th pan cars, World GT and Modified Touring Cars. The 2012 Jimmy Babcock Racing League (JBRL) Series kicked off earlier this year on March 3rd at OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, CA. With a record turnout for round #1, the stage was set for a great series. During the next 7 months, 1 race was held each month at a different location which would test each drivers ability to adapt to each track. The series finale would be held at race director Jimmy Babcock’s home track, Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, CA. Every year the JBRL Series has been known as one of the most competitive and popular racing series in the country with this year would be no different. Top drivers from all the major manufacturers: Kyosho, TLR, and Team Associated all were in attendance doing their best to take home a prestigious series title.

The opening round of the Norwegian national indoor series was held by the host club VMBK in Fagernes last Sunday and Adrian Berntsen sent us this report. The race saw some 43 drivers attending in four different classes, including 1:10 Modified, 1:10 Stock, 1:12 Pan Car, and M-Chassis. The track was as always in this event, big with a size of approximately 600m2 with a nice and well combined layout. Especially for me and Petter, the traction was totally different from what we were having in the ETS round in Germany one week before, so this would give us some challenges on finding a new and better setup for our ORCA powered T4’s.
