Viktor Wilck teams up with Infinity

Creation Model have announced the signing of Swedish electric on-road ace, Viktor Wilck to their factory team. The former Serpent driver, who claimed back-to-back podium finishes at the most recent Electric Touring Car World Championships in South Africa, joins former team-mate Marc Rheinard, Akio Sobue and Yannic Prumper to further strengthen the Japanese manufacturer’s Touring Car programme. A multiple ETS race winner, Wilck will make his race debut with the team at the second round of the championship in Daun, Germany, next month as they strives to add the Euro Touring Series title to their IF14’s list of achievements. Commenting on his move to the Reedy Race and TITC winning manufacturer, Wilck said:

I am very pleased to be joining the Infinity team. I have seen the dedication and professionalism going into the team and products. I know Infinity will keep improving and give me the best package for the upcoming season. I would like to thank Infinity and especially Kenji Taira for this opportunity and I am looking forward to the next years together.

Micha Widmaier doubles at Köngen Indoor Masters

The annual Köngen Indoor Masters was held in Köngen, Southern Germany this past weekend. SWorkz’s Micha Widmaier was on fire again, taking the overall TQs and wins in both 2WD Modified Buggy and 4WD Modified Buggy. Yokomo’s Luca Rau came in 2nd in front of Team Associated driver Kim Sitensky. Over in 4WD it was again Luca Rau with the runner-up spot as Xray’s Jens Becker rounded out the top 3.

Randy Caster joins Muchmore Racing

Muchmore have announced the signing of US top driver, Randy Caster to their international racing team. Randy is well known for his 1up Racing brand and recently left long-time sponsors Team Associated and Reedy to race for Yokomo and now also Muchmore. Randy will campaign the company’s Fleta series motors and speed controllers as well as the Impact series batteries and he has the following to say:

I’m very excited for the start of a new chapter with Muchmore Racing. I want to thank Joe Pillars, Kobayashi, Jang for giving me this opportunity.

2019 Desert Classic – Announcement

The 2019 Desert Classic will be held from the 7th to 10th of March at Action Hobby RC Raceway in Chandler, Arizona. The event will see the running of the most popular Modified and Stock classes, including a 21.5T 2WD Buggy handout motor category, and sign-up is available from the 14th of January12:00 pm MST here. Clement Boda doubles at Happy New Year Race

The Belgian Buggy Club Indoor held their Happy New Year Race this past weekend at their permanent indoor carpet track in Lodelinsart. The event was held in four different 1/10th electric off-road classes and it attracted both national racers and guests from abroad. In the competitive 2WD Modified Buggy class, that drew 53 entries, it was Team Associated’s Clement Boda with the overall TQ from Team Associated driver, Wouter Wynen and Xray’s Mathieu Briere. After the triple A-mains and when the dust had settled it was again Clement on top from Wouter 2nd and Mathieu 3rd.

Südhoff & Vogel win at MCSS Open

The MCSS Althengstett held the MCSSS Open 2019 this past weekend. The race was held in several electric on-road classes and in the premier Touring Modified category it was Awesomatix’s Freddy Südhoff with the overall TQ from Yokomo’s Ronald Völker and Awesomatix driver, Tim Wahl. The finals also were a done deal for Freddy, who brought home the wins in all three finals for the overall in front of Ronald and Tim. Mugen’s Eric Dankel came as the best of the rest in 4th.

2019 AWS Rd4 – Report

The fourth round of the 2019 AWS was held at Deerdale with 64 attending the meeting. There was a mix of Nitro 8th Buggy, 8th Electric Buggy, mixed with Nitro, and 8th Nitro Truggy. Racing started at exactly 9am with a round of timed practice. Followed by the qualifiers that were held on a drying track that caused some traction rolling problems for the drivers. After the three rounds of qualifying Jon Howells took TQ in Truggy from Wez Jolly and Mark Morris while the Buggy class was lead by Graham Alsop taking the TQ in front of Mike Lewis and John Holmes. In fading light the Buggy A-main was the last final of the day. The 15-minutes race started just after 4pm and some driver scrambled to change tyres because of the slippy conditions. However in the end it was Graham Alsop (HB Racing) taking the win from Mick Butler (HB Racing) on the 2 spot. 3rd place was taken by another driver for HB Racing, John Holmes and 4th place was taken by Mike Lewis.

Protoform sign Yugo Nagashima

Protoform have announced the addition of Japanese electric on-road frontrunner, Yugo Nagashima to their race team. The Destiny factory driver went on an absolute tear in 2018, winning National Championships in Japan, Canada and Australia as well as major victories at the Snowbird Nationals, U.S. Indoor Champs, the Speed King Tout and the Asian Onroad Championships. Many of these big wins came with Protoform race bodies but after being a free agent in terms of body shells, Yugo now officially joined the international Protoform team. Yugo had this to say about the deal:
