Jason Breiner successful at West Coast Challenge Rd1

The Florida-based West Coast Challenge recently had their opening round with about 100 entries for the race. In the 4WD Buggy A-main Jason Breiner (Team Associated) came out fastest from runner-up, Ben Pinover and 3rd placed Ryan Petitt (both Xray).

Yaniv Sivan wins Israeli League E-Buggy series Rd5

The fifth round of this year’s Israeli League E-Buggy series was held at the Rishpon racing track near Tel Aviv. After three rounds of qualifying Yaniv Sivan took the TQ honours and thus the pole position for the triple A-mains. At the start of A1 Yaniv made a small mistake that saw him drop to 6th while Yaniv Levy, coming from the 2 spot on the grid, took over the lead followed by Amit Bublil. In the closing stages and after a big recovery, Yaniv Sivan was able to close the gap on Levy to take the lead and eventually coming in 1st in the opening A-main. A2 was pretty much a done deal for the TQ holder as Levy ran into tyre issues but was able to hold onto 2nd place while up front Yaniv Sivan would score another win and with it the overall victory.

Aydin Horne sweeps Factory Tracks Invitational

Leisure Hours Raceway hosted the 4th Annual Factory Tracks Invitational in Will County, Illinois this past weekend. While in its fourth year running, each year has crowned a new champion from FTR’s Aydin, Austin, and Allen Horne having all won the overall 2WD/4WD combined championship. The FTR Invitational uses the all out, racing format of the Reedy Race of Champions with points decided by five runs in 2WD and five runs in 4WD allowing for one drop in each class. Running alongside the FTR Invitational was the 2017 JConcepts Shootout, which consisted of the more standard four rounds of qualifying and single A-Main format to decide the winner.

French Electric On-road Nationals Rd2 – Report

The second round of the French Electric On-road Nationals was held in Lentilly near Lyon with 76 drivers signing in for the four classes of Touring Modified, Touring 10.5T, Touring 13.5T and Formula. In the premier Touring Modified class it was Alexandre Duchet who took the TQ in front of Loic Jasmin and Remi Callens. After the finals the top spots mixed up a bit with Loic taking the day’s win from Alexandre and Remi.

Edward TQs & wins Carisma DTMxGQ Cup

The Carisma DTMxGQ Cup was held this past weekend at the ACO track in Hong Kong. Cloudy and unpredictable weather was predicted for race day but this did not held the drivers from getting the most out of their mandatory Carisma M40S RTR cars that had to be run with realistic DTM bodyshells, bone-stock Carisma 3000kv brushless systems and GQ hand out tyres. At the end only one A-main was to be held due to heavy rain in the afternoon and it was TQ holder Edward that brought home the win from Dick Wong 2nd and Stick King 3rd.

Swiss Electric On-road Championship Rd1 – Report

Round 1 of the Swiss Electric On-road National Championship was held in Chiasso, in the Italian part of the country. More than 50 drivers signed in for the four classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock, Swiss GT and Formula. In the premier Touring Modified class it was Michele Manzo who took the TQ and he would also walk away with the win after the triple A-mains, taking the victory in front of Fabian Widmer and Antonino Mangiaracina.

Bart Mullink doubles at Mach-One Kick Off race

The Dutch Mach-One club hosted their Kick Off 2017 race over the weekend, attracting some 120 entries from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands to compete in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy classes. The 3-days event was held on a high grip astro turf track and Agama driver Bart Mullink would sweep the Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy classes by winning both categories in front of Jeffrey Halsema in 2nd and Jarno Pijpers in 3rd in Nitro Buggy while former World champion Daniel Reckward in 2nd and Colin Meijer in 3rd would round out the E-Buggy podium.

California Touring Series Rd3 – Report

Round 3 of the 2017 CTS was held at the Tamiya USA raceway in Aliso Viejo, California. With close to 200 entries, the weekend had perfect weather and was packed with the best asphalt racers from the Westcoast. Special guest appearances from World Champion Spencer Rivikin, blast from the past David Jun and Josh Numan coming out of semi retirement. After ten years of a hiatus, David Jun put his Reedy powered TC7.1 in the show. In the Modified division, it was Team Associated driver Ryan Cavalieri who came out on top in the main. TQ Eric Albano had hole shot but due to lack of grip in the first turn, the Yokomo driver fell back to dead last during the early part of the race. By great driving from the reigning champ, Albano managed to work his way up to third for a hard earned fight. Meanwhile in second position, til about one minute to go, round 1 and 2 winner Rick Hohwart had 2nd locked up with Julian Wong (Xray) in 3rd until traffic tangled with the Team Associated veteran which put him in 9th as Wong and Albano sneaks by for podium.
