Martini & Puelo win at Italian WRC Contest

The Italian Bientina track played host for the recent WRC Contest with many drivers using the event to prepare for the upcoming round of the Italian championships held at this track in mid-September. In the Touring Car Modified class Francesco Martini took the TQ in the first round and used the remaining qualifiers to test various settings. In the Stock class the race was on between Marco Puelo, Tiziano Borgogni, Roberto Fabiano and Andrea Valerio. At the end Marco Puelo was able to take the TQ for the finals.

Chad Due takes 2WD at Futaba Electric Challenge

This weekend was the Futaba Electric Challenge hosted by Leisure Hours Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. This very unique event which competes on both indoor and outdoor surfaces across two days of racing to crown an overall champion. The first day of competition started on Leisure Hours’ flowing, high-grip indoor track. In 2WD, Chad Due was able to TQ two of the three rounds of qualifying to start first on the grid in the main, followed by Ryan Lutz (Team Durango) and fellow Team Associated teammate Corey Liebherr. In the main, the first few laps were very clean and then a mistake by Ryan and Corey gave room for Mason Perillo (Team Associated). At the end Chad was able to cruise to the finish with Mason taking 2nd and Ryan 3rd.

Sagi & Kalnay win at Xray Challenge Hungary

The Xray Challenge Hungary was held at the famous Hungaroring track that, beside the full-scale race circuit, also has an RC racing track to offer. In the 1/8th nitro on-road class Tamas Sagi came out successful in front of Peter Keöberz and Bendeguz Gyulai in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Tamas then also went on to win the 1/10th scale 200mm Stock class in front of Peter Varsanyi and Bela Pogatsnik. The electric touring car class had Zsolt Kalnay walking away with the win from Zoltan Polyak in 2nd and Peter Loncsar in 3rd.

Richard Taylor joins Schumacher

Richard Taylor joins Schumacher

Schumacher welcome Richard “Tricky” Taylor to their off road team. Richard’’s long and successful career in 1/10th off road includes four BRCA National Championship titles, twice EFRA Euros podium finisher, and an IFMAR Worlds A-final. In recent years Richard has been running 1/8th off-road, where he has achieved A-final positions at the Neo buggy race and several British nationals. Now, concentrating on 1/10th again, with his new CAT K1 Aero and Cougar KF cars, Richard will be a top contender at the popular Chadderton indoor series this winter and BRCA Nationals in 2015.

Jesper Rasmussen doubles at Danish 1/10th buggy champs

Though cloudy skies covered the outdoor 2014 Danish Championship finale, but it did not rain on Jesper Rasmussen’s parade. He successfully drove his Team Associated buggy to the series win in the 2WD Buggy class, winning the A-main on the Astroturf track with his Reedy-equipped RC10B5M. If that wasn’t enough, he also piloted his Reedy-equipped B44.2 Factory Team buggy to championship in 4WD Buggy.

Cerny & Nemcek win at Czech championships

Last weekend the Czech electric on-road championships were held in Svitavy. Rain was expected during the meeting but thankfully the sun stayed out making for good racing conditions on the relatively bumpy track. Marek Cerny TQ’d three out of the five qualifiers in the Modified class to take the overall TQ for the finals in front of David Nemcek and Jaroslav Kopecky.

Jörn Neumann wins at German 1/10th 2WD nationals

The German 1/10th 2WD buggy nationals took place in Gemünden on an all-astroturf track. Changing weather conditions over the weekend made things tricky for the drivers and mixed-up the field in the qualifiers but after winning the recent 4WD Buggy and Short Course Truck nationals Team Durango’s Jörn Neumann was on a mission again in the dry 2WD Modified Buggy finals to take the national title early after winning the first and second A-final. Kyosho’s Christopher Krapp came in 2nd while Team Associated driver Patrick Hofer completed the top 3 result.

Team Durango Winter Series – Announcement

Team Durango Winter Series – Announcement

Hinckley Radio Control Car Club based in Leicestershire, Midlands UK announce the Team Durango Winter Series for the 2014/2015 Winter. The 12×30 meter carpet track is home to top drivers such as Andy Moore, Elliott Harper, Ben Cosgrove or Kyle Branson and ensuring the highest possible standard of club driving possible. The TDWS will be contested over 5 rounds with 3 to count, starting on the 19th of October and ending on the 1st of March next year. Classes are for Open Modified/13.5T Boosted, 13.5T Blinky and 17.5T Blinky. Controlled Ride Rex tyres are used as per the EWS/ETS rules in all classes apart from the 17.5 class. Booking-in opens on 15th September 8PM UK time with an entry limit of 80 drivers this is sure to fill up fast.
