Carson Wernimont renews with Schumacher

Up and coming Californian driver Carson Wernimont agreed a contract extension with Schumacher through to the end of 2015, which means that he will be representing the UK manufacturer at major USA and international 1/10th Off Road races, including the IFMAR Worlds in Japan. Carson has had a great year since he switched to Schumacher, with a big win at Motorama and A mains at the Cactus Classic and EOS, and he is sure to be a strong contender in the future.

Xray Challenge South Africa – Report

The first ever Xray Challenge South Africa was held at the indoor asphalt track of the Welkom RC Club in Johannesburg. Run in Touring Car 13.5T Boosted, 1/12th scale 10.5T blinky and a FWD class, the race attracted plenty of drivers from all over South Africa. A Reedy race format with heads up racing was used, which meant that the drivers were scrambled in heats and basically racing for positions in every round, and thus, counting together the 6 best results out of 8. In the end, Xray’s Alexander Hagberg managed to win all his 8 races, as well as setting the quickest overall time, including a new lap record, to take the overall win in front of Hein Kotze, and Antonio Caroli on a strong 3rd position.

Kev Lee doubles at oOple Off-Road Open Series Rd1

The 2014 season of the oOoos kicked off at Stotfold last weekend. Being in its second year the series is meant to address the average driver and will compromise of a total of four events in 2014. New for ’14 is also a vintage RC10 “Gold Tub” class run with handout 21.5T brushless motors. 2WD Buggy was pretty much dominated by Kev Lee who swept the A-final leaving Stuart Wood and Gregg Williams behind. Kev then also went on to triple-win the 4WD mains with Ben Jemison and Stuart Wood completing the podium. In the Gold Tub class James McFadyean also took undefeated wins to take the overall victory. Dutch electric on-road nationals Rd1 – Report



The first round of the Dutch electric on-road nationals was held last weekend at the RC-Hotwheels track in Deventer. Practice on Saturday took place under the best possible weather conditions but overnight rain washed away the grip and coming the first qualifying round the track was still damp. Soon after the first round was completed, the heaven opened its gates again causing the racing action to come to a halt. In the Touring Car Modified class the TQ then went to Rob Jansen (Tamiya) followed by Jetse Reitsma (Spec-R) and Ronald Arts (Tamiya). The Stock class had Jitse Miedema taking TQ in front of his Xray fellows Bram Lagerwey and Steven Koiter.

Wayne Mah takes 2014 WCICS 1/12th Modified title

At the final round of the Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series, which hosted over 1500 registrations across 8 events this season, Xray’s Wayne Mah took the Team Novak RC Sponsored 1/12th Scale Modified season championship. This is the first year for 1/12 Modified in WCICS, and is the fastest class in the series. Only very skilled drivers need apply, and Wayne takes home the well-deserved top spot in the inaugural year. Second in the championship was an amazing three way tie. British Columbia’s CRC sponsored Blake Bell, followed by Team Associated’s Peter Toszer in 3rd, and Steve Soon were all tied, but after going to race wins, TQ’s, and dropped races that’s how it shook out. Van Helmond & Konings win at Dutch offroad nats Rd2

Last weekend the 2nd round of the combined Belgium and Dutch electric off-road nationals took place at the redesigned astro turf track of Metchtem in Belgium. The qualification in the 2WD class was a close affair between Wouter Wijnen and Wesley von Helmond with both winning one of the first two qualifiers. The final round would decide and at the end it was Wesley who put his TLR on pole in front of Wouter Wijnen and Nik Weyers.

Fleischmann & Hettrich take German Indoor Nationals

Last weekend, the 2014 German Indoor Nationals were held in the small town of Manching near Ingolstadt on a quite challenging track. A total of 59 entries participated in the three classes. In the Modified class, Yokomo driver Dominik Fleischmann dominated the proceedings from practice on, TQ-ing all five rounds of qualifying. Behind him Marc Fischer took his Serpent to second on the grid in front of the Awesomatix of Dionys Stadler.
In the finals, Dominik was able to open up a comfortable gap early on and he went on to take the overall win by winning all three A-mains. The podium was completed by Stadler and Fischer and the top 6 result was rounded out by the Xrays of Marco Kaufmann and Tim Wahl and the Yokomo of Bernhard Bopp.
