BRCA 1/8 Circuit National Championship Rd1 – Report

The first round of the 2015 BRCA 1/8th Circuit 2015 National Championship season was hosted by the Cotswolds Club and the weather forecast was for rain all weekend and it did not disappoint. Over the winter the field normally see a host of drivers switching teams but this year it seems to have remained static at the top. One notable change is Jason Frost switching to the Capricorn team to partner team leader Kyle Branson and Neal King. Also a host of London drivers have made the switch to Capricorn which is now becoming a very popular product down the pit lane. It was also nice to see Lee Kormer making his first appearance after missing most of last year through illness and the birth of his newborn.

Aaron Stringer took dominant TQs in both the Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy classes and in the Truck final Aaron got a clean start from pole position and just cleared out and won the final by over 3 laps. Buggy then was the last race of the event and Aaron got an o.k. start from pole with 2nd and 3rd in close pursuit, but 3 minutes in the race the computer suffered a glitch causing the race to be stopped while the issue was fixed. The second start to the A-main was much better and Aaron was able to drive away from his opposition.
