Clean sweep for Nagashima at OneTen Shanghai

Completing the perfect weekend, topping all sessions over both rounds 5 and 6 of the OneTen Series in RCI V2, Yugo Nagashima took a commanding win in the 8-minute A-main after the battle with JJ Wang failed to materialise, despite the American putting in the fastest lap of the race. Motor King would complete the round 6 podium after Rocket Zhang started to feel unwell near the end of the race while in 3rd, eventually finishing in 4th. While the win looked straight forward, Yugo was quick to say it was ‘not easy’, elaborating by saying that his car was super loose in the opening 2 minutes, while JJ’s car was very competitive at the start. Making a small mistake in the chicane while being chased, when the tires came good he could get his head down and drive a controlled race, winning by a 4.5 second margin.

Nagashima is OneTen Rd6 Top qualifier

Completing the qualifying double this weekend, Yugo Nagashima is once again the top qualifier here in Shanghai, the Serpent driver topping the times in Q2 and 3 to secure his second pole position in as many days. Again he was pushed hard by JJ Wang, the American leading for half of the 3rd qualifier before being passed in the dying stages by the Japanese racer. Rocket Zhang has all but confirmed his 3rd place starting spot for this afternoon’s 8-minute A-main with his 3rd top 3 run of the day, with the remainder of the top 5 also staying the same as Motor King took 4th place for a 3rd time as well as Gary Huang in 5th. Yugo was happy to wrap up the TQ spot earlier, but was quick to point out that he had tried a change in setup which wasn’t to his liking which explained how JJ made it to the front in the 3rd qualifier. Saying the feeling was good but the car now had too much rotation he may have went too far in a direction and will make some more changes to dial back the effect for Q4.
