Round 3 of the Xray Winter Series Greece was held at the FRT raceway in Athens. The race attracted a good amount of drivers to compete in the three classes of Touring Modified, Formula and Pan Car and in the premier Touring Mod class it was Georgiadis who set the early pace and he would also take the overall TQ after winning all qualifying rounds. Amaxas snatched the 2 spot on the grid in front of Bratis.
Round 6 of the Israeli League was recently held at the Nir Moshe racing track. After the three qualifying rounds Yaniv Sivan took the overall TQ from Omer Assayag is second and Tal Siles in third. The 40 minute race started with Yaniv Sivan in pole position, but he made two mistakes in the opening stages, allowing Omer Assayag to take over the lead only to loose it again around the 5 minute mark when Yaniv Sivan was back in the lead. Yaniv then started to open a gap on the rest of the field. Meanwhile an amazing battle for second and third was on between Tal Siles, Ofer Avitan and Aviv Mimon. 10 minutes from the end Tal Siles grabbed the second position in front of Ofer Avitan and this would also be the top 3 positions at the checkered flag. Yaniv Sivan would win the race with Tal Siles finishing in second, only 0.13 seconds behind Yaniv. Ofer Avian rounded out the top 3 result.
Last weekend’s second round of the BRCA GT12 Nationals at MB Models also saw the running of the 1/10th Formula class. The event attracted a total of 34 drivers and at the end it was Andy Murray (Xray) who grabbed the day’s win from James Greener (Exotek). MD Racing driver James Wright was able to snatch the final podium spot to round out the top 3 result.

Last weekend saw the second round of the 2016 BRCA GT12 National Championship, at the recently opened MB Models Raceway. With 98 drivers booked in, this event was probably the largest and most competitive race GT12 has ever seen. The winner of national round 1, Adam Catchpole (Zen) put in a fantastic run to take the pole position, with Schumacher’s Andy Murray less than a second behind. James Hart (Schumacher) completed the top 3 on the grid. The A-final saw a spectacular race up front, with Adam and Andy pulling out a gap to the rest of the field as they carried out an intense battle. All eyes were on the battle to see Andy showing much improved form and putting pressure onto the current national champion. This continued until around the half way point when the tiniest mistake from Adam allowed Andy a way through. This battle thrilled the large crowd for the rest of the 6 minutes. Ultimately Andy took the win, his first national victory in GT12, just ahead of Adam. James Hart (3rd) and Aidan Ripley (4th) could break away from the battle for 5th place. 5th to 10th was a super close battle with all 6 drivers finishing within less than 5 seconds.
The recent RC Super Bowl saw RJ Hart walking away with a double win in 1/8th E-Buggy and 4×4 Short Course classes. In the E-Buggy category RJ took the TQ after winning all four qualifying rounds and in the final he cruised to the win in front of Casey Maul and Cody Romanczuk in second and third respectively. In 4×4 Short Course RJ would win two of the four qualifiers but he lost the TQ in the tie-breaker. The main was a different story then with the lead swapping constantly but at the end RJ hold the upper hand over Ken Zimmermann who grabbed the runner-up spot. In third Randy Drapinski completed the top 3 result.
The HIT Winter Series recently resumed with round 3 that attracted more than 120 entries to run in several electric on-road classes. In the premier class of Touring Open, Kuba Simurda took the TQ and also the overall win from Xray teammate Jiri Vysin. Vita Hola (Xray) grabbed the final podium spot from Pavel Martinec (Xray), who came all the way from the 8 spot on the grid.

Round 4 of the 2015/16 Mibosport Cup will be held this coming Saturday at the Hotel-Sport in Hrotovice, Czech Republic. The series attracted a huge entry of 246 drivers at the recent round 3 and due to the amount of sign-ups for the coming round the organisers have decided to run Friday’s practice in groups which also makes seeding for the qualifying rounds easier. Drivers arriving on Saturday will be placed according to their results in previous events. As for the championship, Oliver Havránek currently leads the Touring Modified standings from Zdenko Kunák while in the Stock LRP category Jürgen Horn sits on top of the sheets, closely followed by Oliver Havránek. Herbert Weber is leading the Formula standings from Mario Sailer and in the last of the on-road classes, 1/12th scale, Tomáš Lipták is leading the championship from Toni Eder. In the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes young Kája Novotný is currently sitting on top with Marcel Rekettye in second. More information about the series as well as sign-up for round 4 can be found here.
A fantastic turn out of drivers attended the last round of the 2015 Dudley RCC Winter Series that had a great turn out for 1/16th Micro, 2WD, 4WD, Vintage and Touring cars, in total 78 drivers making up 12 heats of qualifying. The club again put on a well laid out fast flowing track on full carpet with the usual table top, finger jumps and the wall ride which were removable for the touring cars. Again there was a strong turnout of support for the 1/16th Micro Class with 30 drivers battling for the top 10. After four rounds Jon Howells took the TQ from Ryan Lucas and Andy Mountford.
