Toykar Futaba OS Jakarta Open – Announcement

The 2015 Toykar Futaba OS Jakarta Open will be held on the Jakarta International Twin Circuit, Indonesia on June 6th to 7th in the two classes of 1/8th Nitro On-road and 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring. The annual event each year attracts both experienced drivers and entry-level racers alike with the latter being highly encouraged to take part at the event that always offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. EFRA 200mm Euros Warm-up race – Announcement

The warm-up race for the 2015 EFRA 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring Car European Championships A & B will be held on the 4th and 5th of July at the impressive EFMOD facility in Izmir, Turkey. Run on a repaved 430 metre track with a 70 metre straight the event will also see the running of the second round of the Turkish On-road Nationals. More information can be found here and here.

Alberto Alonso wins 1/8th class at Spanish Nats Rd2

During last weekend’s 2nd round of the Spanish Nitro On-road Nationals Alberto Alonso took the win in the 45 minute final of the 1/8th scale class. Starting from 6th on the grid Alberto took over the lead in lap 59 and due to different fuel stop strategies the positions changed a few times between Alberto and Sergio Montesinos but Alberto kept the lead in the final portion of the race and ultimately took the win, scoring important points for the overall national ranking in which he now sits in 1st place. The podium was completed by David Castellano and Sergio Rivas in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Paparegas wins Northern Greece Buggy Champs Rd2

The 2nd round of the Northern Greek Buggy Championship was held at the Serres Hobbytech track on a new, technical layout with many jumps. Tasos Paparegas took the pole position and he also scored the fastest lap of the race but he was denied the win because of a battery failure. Instead his brother John took the winning honours from Perogianakis with Margaritis rounding out the podium in 3rd.

Wicaksono wins Jakarta Regional Buggy Champs Rd2

The 2nd round of Jakarta Regional Buggy Championship was held at the Jati Bening Track in Jakarta. The track was muddy and bumpy at race day because of overnight rain, making for some tough time for the drivers. Adrian Sutanto took the TQ after the qualifiers but it was Adrian Wicaksono who came out successful in the final in front of Jason Nugroho who lead the race at some point but he lost the lead after he flipped his buggy. John Agus rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Ressar & Lainemäe win at Estonian Buggy Nats Rd1

The first round of the Estonian 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at the Tallinn Festival Grounds in Tallinn. The annual grass race was run in the two classes of 1/8th Nitro Buggy and 1/8th E-Buggy and in the Nitro class it was Rainer Ressar who took the win from Hendrik Lainemäe in 2nd and Kuldar Ilus in 3rd.

Xray Challenge Grand Final – Report

The Grand Final of the Xray Challenge was held on the outdoor track of the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. Good mood, fantastic atmosphere, nearly perfect weather conditions and great racing performances from the drivers made for a fantastic event that attracted both local racers and Xray’s international racing team. In the 1/8th Nitro class Tomas Krägefski won the race after a thrilling last lap when he was able to pass Tomas Liptak for the lead. Veteran racer Igor Liptak rounded out the podium in 3rd spot.

SG50 Singapore Open Race – Report

The SG50 Singapore Open Race was held in the three classes of 1/8th GT, 1/8th On-road and 1/10th On-road with a great turnout of national and international racers from Italy, Japan, UK, Thailand, and Australia. In the premier 1/8th On-road class the round 1 and 2 TQs were captured by Nelson Lee while round 3 was basically a race between Carmine Riola, Jesse Davis and Nelson Lee. All three racers were separated by only about 1 second until the final lap and unfortunately, Nelson Lee ran out of fuel and he DNF’d in the last qualifyier resulting in a start from the 7 spot on the grid. Up front Carmine started from pole position into the main and Nelson tried to work his way through the field to make up lost ground. During the second round of fuel stops, Nelson moved up to 4th position and after a mid-race stop for tyres he found himself lapping half a second per lap faster on the larger tyres. He now was in 2nd position and only one lap behind the leader Erwin Luhur. Pushing himself to the limit, Nelson Lee continued to clock fast lap times on the fresh rubber and thanks to swift refuelling, he took over the lead after the last rounds of pit stops to take the win from Erwin and Trin.
