Agama USA have announced that Jason Branham has joined their growing team. Jason has been consistently rising to the top in the pro 1/8th buggy class in the United States and his recent accolades include a championship win in the 2010 R/C Pro Series in Pro 1/8th buggy, an A main appearance at the Dirt Nitro Challenge in the Pro Buggy Class and a recent podium finish at the Futaba Nitro Challenge last month. I am very excited to sign with Agama Racing and I want to thank Agama USA, Gene Hickerson and Andrew Smolnik for this opportunity.  I have worked very hard to get to where I’m at today and in signing with Agama they have assured me that they are as committed to racing as I am. I will work as hard as possible to help Agama make great competitive race cars, and ensure that Agama customers are happy with their rides as well. I’m looking forward to getting into the winners circle with Agama’s high quality A8 racing buggy.

Drake heads home Losi Top 5 at Summer Sizzle

This past weekend ARC Raceway held their Summer Sizzle race which attracted over 100 entries including some of So Cal’s best drivers. Adam Drake, Richard Saxton, Josh Alton, Matt Castellano, Drew Moller, Ronda Drake and Matt Schreffler were in attendance. TLR / Novarossi driver Adam Drake TQ’d both rounds of qualifying, while second on the grid was TLR teammate Matt Castellano. The start of the final was action packed with many lead changes. At one point Drake and Castellano were shuffled as far back as fifth or sixth. About the seven minute mark Drake resumed the lead for the final time and didn’t look back.  Drake went on to win the 30 minute final by almost one lap followed by TLR teammates Castellano, Schreffler, Moller, and Ballow.

Kyle Branson wins BRCA 1/8th Rd6

BRCA1_8onroadRd6

Round 6 of the BRCA 1/8th Championship was the second visit to the Brooklands circuit in Kent. The track looked in excellent condition with after remedial works to remove bumps on the infield straight, but the bumps at the end of the straight remained but did not cause any major problems. The weather forecast was for a bright Saturday, with showers Sunday morning and then a dry day thereafter. Saturday allowed drivers to find the ideal setup and strategy for the 5 mins qualifying. With almost every engine manufacture now designing engines to 7mins EFRA qualifying requirements makes it increasingly impossible for UK drivers to complete 5 mins and therefore a stop for fuel on fast circuits is now generally the case by the top drivers.

Pietsch completes dream debut for MTX-5

Pietsch completes dream debut for MTX-5

Robert Pietsch has given Mugen’s new MTX-5 the dream debut by convincingly winning the 200mm European Championships in Ettlingen Germany. The race was only ever between Pietsch and Dirk Wischnewski but a flame out during the former Champion’s tyre stop in the middle of the race effectively put the Xray driver a lap down on his fellow countryman.  After a long battle with Biagio Spataro, who retired after fuel got into his electrics, Finland’s Teemu Leino completed the podium.
