Karl Heinz Meister - Interview

As part of the fun and festivities in Roeselare for this weeks European B Championships for 1/10th 200mm, the organisers are doing some interviews with the first of those published being with Karl Heinz Meister. Many of you know Karl Heinz as the man behind the super fast KHM hand tuned engines that were sold a few years back, but he is also a very fast driver with some great results behind him and this week he is racing in Belgium with an eye on the final.

1/10th European B Championships – Day 2

European B Championships

Ok, so we will skip straight to day 2 of the 1/10th scale Euro B Championships as not a lot happened on day 1 in Roeselare except all of the drivers arriving and getting to grips with the track, and day 2 is not much different. Controlled practice started today (Tuesday) and so the first times have come out, but as it is still practice i wouldnt read into the times too much as i heard the track is still trying to lose its coating of dust and for the grip to really come up and people are still practicing and so not running at full race pace for the entire session. Local racer Steve Lambrechts is topping the times, although he is 2 laps up on everyone so he seemed to be pushing it in his practice run, while another Belgian, Henriet Manuel is next up ahead of Swiss driver Traugott Schär.

Axe Rossi respond to Gomez

Axe Rossi respond to Gomez

Following the statement made yesterday by Ricardo Gomez, father of Richi, in relation to the disagreement between his son and engine manufacturer Axe Rossi, the Italian company has responded with their own statement. In it they claim that the products that Richi received were up to scratch and even allowed Richi win his first National race that he took part in with the engine and they are of the opinion that the only reason he has left Axe Rossi was because he was offered a better offer from a different manufacturer. The saga continues.

International manifesto of Ricardo Gomez

International manifesto of Ricardo Gomez

Last week we wrote about a piece we saw on Neo Buggy stating that Richi Gomez could be brought to court by Axe Rossi for breach of contract. Today our other site partners Buggy Sport received the exclusive manifesto from Ricardo Gomez, father of Richi, in which he states (in my understanding as its difficult to read) that they have upheld their side of the agreement and that Axe have not lived up to theirs. What it essentially comes down to is that Axe Rossi have not supplied them with sufficient product support and that what they have recieved has been of substandard quality and definitely not worthy of a top international racer who needs to compete at the highest level. Problems like leaking in both the combutsion chamber and carburettor, to poorly made exhaust systems, these motors have been unusable and replacements have not been forthcoming and thus to fullfill his obligations to his other sponsors he has had to source other engines, which seems fair enough.
