Raven Barton wins at TBRL Winter Series Rd1

The opening round of the Tony Bacon Racing League Winter Series was held at the TBRL indoor carpet track in Fort Dodge, Iowa last Saturday. The event attracted 120 entries and in the 17.5T Girl Power class it was Raven Barton with the overall TQ. In the single 5-minute A-main event it was still Raven who would dominate the proceedings with Sarah Kearney coming in 2nd, a lap down. In 3rd it was Bree who would round out the top 3 result in front of Jana Peavler and Angie Vanderbeek.

Nikolas Schmitz doubles at HK-Cup opener

The opening round of the HK-Cup was held in Hürtgenwald in the western part of Germany last weekend. When the dust had settled and in the 2WD Buggy class it was Nikolas Schmitz with the win, coming from the 2 spot on the grid. Nikolas would secure the over with a win in A3, leaving behind Jean Baptiste Janssens and Markus Klein in 2nd and 3rd overall.

2019 Pizza Feast race – Report

Last weekend the Pizza Feast race was held at MHOR RC Raceway in Aurora, Colorado. The event kicked off with practice on Thursday with Friday offering more practice and the opening round of qualifying in the eventing. Saturday started with the last three rounds of qualifying and Zac Gastelum would take the TQ in both 2WD Mod and 4WD Mod, Cole Lewton would grab the TQ in both 13.5 2WD and Truck, Mike Malenado TQed in 13.5 4WD, and Christopher Malenado TQed in Sportsmen. Sunday was mains day and the Modified class mains were single 8-minutes legs due to low entries. In 2WD Mod Zac Gastelum would bring home the win after a flawless run with Domnic Paccione and David Joor coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

2019/20 BRCA LMP12 Nationals Rd2 – Report

Round two of the 2019/20 BRCA LMP12 Nationals took place in Poole last weekend. A strong entry of over 70 racers took part in the weekend’s racing as the season builds towards the IFMAR world championships in January. The Dorset club has a smaller track area but laid a fast and flowing circuit that required good rhythm and accuracy to secure a fast time. Saturday would see drivers competing in 13.5 and 17.5 stock classes. Winner of the first round of the 13.5 championship, Olly Jefferies was in commanding form taking first place in all four rounds of qualifying. It was, however, very close at the front and he would line up on pole under a second ahead of David Spashett with Ollie Payne a further second back in third place.

Hayato Ishioka crowned 2019 Speed King

The final round of the 2019 Speed King Tour was held at the SRT Sagami do racing track in the Kanagawa prefecture. The track’s layout suits both 1/8th and 1/10th nitro cars which makes for real high speed battles in the 1/10th electric touring classes. Yokomo driver Hayato Ishioka showed his speed right from the get go as he took the overall TQ after the three rounds of qualifying, however another Yokomo driver, Souta Goto took the pole position after wining the “Super Lap” session.

Swiss Indoor Championship Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Swiss Indoor Championship was held at the FAMA Hobby Fair in Bulle, Switzerland last weekend, attracting 75 entires for the 1/10th and 1/12th on-road classes. The organisers laid out a fast and tricky layout using ETS carpet and in Touring ProStock it was young and talented Briac Berthoud who took the overall TQ spot and also the overall win in front of Darko Meister and Marco Rizzo in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

2019 JConcepts Winter Indoor Shootout – Report

The 2019 JConcepts Winter Indoor Shootout and Invitational was held at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, Missouri last weekend. This special race showcases some of the best midwest racers from the area to compete in a Reedy style format that is all about racing. With five rounds of 2WD and five rounds of 4WD counting the best four of five rounds from each class to calculate the best overall driver of the event, the winner is crowned by driver consistency and speed. It’s not about one heat, qualifier, or single main performance, but the eventual winner is the complete package; the real deal. The “Shootout” portion of the race used the traditional four rounds of qualifying taking the best two rounds to sort the mains. Each A-Main also ran an extended single 8-minute main to decide it’s champions among the tradition popular classes.

Nicolas Bregante crowned Argentinean Touring champ

The final round of the Argentinean Metropolitan Championship was held recently and in the Electric Touring class it was Nicolas Bregante with the win at round 10. Lucho Capel came in 2nd and Lucas Wigley complete the top 3 podium result. With the win Nicolas also brought home the overall championship title.
