Alberto Picco TQs at the Italian Nitro On-road Nationals

During this weekend’s opening round of the Italian Nitro On-road Nationals Alberto Picco again presented himself in exceptional by taking the overall TQ following his overall 4th place at the ENS season opener held at the same track. Killing the competition taking the TQ honours in the first three rounds, he used the final qualifier to break in a new conrod in his engine. Behind him Dario Balestri suffered a clutch problem in Q1 and got a penalty for missing his marshalling, but managed to get a good Q3 and Q4 to place himself 3rd overall. Engine problems affected Lamberto Collari’s race, with the 9-time World Champion driving safe in Q3 and Q4 to ensure himself a good starting spot in the semifinal and eventually a chance to compete in the Superpole. Andrea Pirani completed the qualifying in 2nd position after snatching the TQ from Balestri in Q4, with the ENS podium finisher being very competitive in the 10 minutes long qualifiers.

Mark Green takes British Formula Championship

Mark Green takes British Formula Championship

Mark Green has come out successful in his recent 1/10th electric on-road campaign by winning the British 1/10th Formula championship title. On his way to the overall win he scored maximum points in first three of the four rounds to take the title with a 2 point margin on Mark Burgess. David Underwood completed the top 3 result of the 2015 series.

Maanson & Kobbevik win at Swedish Summercup Rd1

The first round of the popular Swedish Summercup was held at the Skarpneck track in Stockholm in the classes of 2WD and 4WD Modified Buggy. After the timed practice local racer Niclas Maanson was on top of the timing sheets of the 2WD class while Daniel Kobbevik set the pace in 4WD. Both drivers would also be still on top in their respective classes after the three rounds of qualifying, to start from pole position into the A-mains.

RC Car World's Spring Challenge Points Series – Report

Last weekend saw the conclusion of RC Car World’s Spring Challenge Points series at RC Car World in Willingboro, NJ. Qualifying started of strong with new Xray driver Oladelé Bolden qualifying 2nd to Schumacher driver Aja Archibald and Thomas Lane qualifying 3rd driving a Yokomo. As usual the track conditions varied as the racing continued throughout the day and Thomas Lane was able to set TQ and pole position heading into the final A main of the series.

Mikael Fransson wins at Swedish Cup Rd1

The first round of the Swedish On-road Cup was hosted by the Wäxjö MS club. In the 1/8th Nitro class it was Serpent’s Mikael Fransson who came out successful in the 45 minute final after also taking the TQ position. Marcus Lindner (Shepherd) came in 2nd, four laps down on Mikael while Lars Haugen (Mugen) finished another six laps down in 3rd.

Cassar & Agius win at Maltese Off-road Nationals Rd4

Round 4 of the Maltese 1/8th Nitro Buggy and Truggy National Championship was held at the MMORRC track in hot ambient temperatures and on a partly dusty track. The fight for the win in the F1 class was on between 2014 champion Kyle Spiteri and Dillon Cassar. Kyle took the TQ but finished 2nd in a main that had Dillon walking away with the win. Chris Zahra came in 3rd in the F1 class final.

Nicolas Risser wins rainy Belgian E-Buggy Nats Rd2

The second round of the Belgian 1/8th E-Buggy Nationals was held at clay track of Bauffe near the French boarder. Unfortunately the race had to be cancelled after the qualifiers due to heavy rain. This meant the qualifying result would determine the day’s winner and this handed Team C’s Nicolas Risser the win from the Kyosho duo of Sebastian Wartelle and Cedric Nickel.

Jakub Franek wins at Polish IC track season opener

The first round of the Polish Nitro On-road season was held at the Nowy Sacz track. Unfortunately the qualification was highly affected by rain and in the 1/10th class it was Przemyslaw Wicher who made the best out of the conditions by taking the TQ from Alexander Ockajak and Grzegorz Nożka. Elsewhere in the 1/8th class the TQ was taken by Marcin Marczyk in front of Janusz Marek and Tomas Hrkel.
