German Mugen driver Tobias Hepp was the only driver who was able to stay in touch with Gunter but at around halfway into the final Tobias’ engine failed. This allowed Serpent driver Nico Vanwynckel, coming from 3rd, to move up to 2nd. Tim Vogels, 4th after the qualification, completed the podium in 3rd.
