Continuing the interviews from the Euro B 1/10th scale Championships in Roeselare, the organisers have sent us an interview they have made with 2 young lady racers, Sabrina Lechner of Germany and Sarah Pierson of France. Don’t think they are at the event to be spectators as these girls are pretty quick with Sabrina finishing the German Nationals as runner up last year and Sarah is currently lying 3rd in the French Nationals and both racers are sponsored.

Ferrari vs. Xray NT1

Xray have an interesting story for us today – Many people know the classical story of David and Goliath. This classical confrontation will soon be reborn with different players on the stage; the brand new XRAY NT1 playing the role of David will come face-to-face with Goliath… a full-size Ferrari sports car! European TV – the Austrian channel ORF – has prepared a special duel… an all-out speed contest between a full-sized Ferrari and the brand new Xray NT1. Both high-tech, powerful cars will compete at a 100m speed track to see if David will once again triumph over Goliath. History may again be in the making… who will win? My money is on the NT1, if its only 100m, but we’ll find out later for sure when the showdown is broadcast this Saturday.

Nitro Beach Caribbean Off-Road Challenge

The guys from the RC Pro Series have been in touch to inform us about their latest exciting racing adventure that will take place at the beginning of 2008 in Puerto Rico. The newly formed RC Pro Off-Road Caribbean Division have organised this event in beautiful surroundings and intends to construct a high-speed, high-flying and flowing track design where speed, control and endurance of both Driver and equipment will be tested.

As part of the fun and festivities in Roeselare for this weeks European B Championships for 1/10th 200mm, the organisers are doing some interviews with the first of those published being with Karl Heinz Meister. Many of you know Karl Heinz as the man behind the super fast KHM hand tuned engines that were sold a few years back, but he is also a very fast driver with some great results behind him and this week he is racing in Belgium with an eye on the final.

1/10th European B Championships – Day 2

European B Championships

Ok, so we will skip straight to day 2 of the 1/10th scale Euro B Championships as not a lot happened on day 1 in Roeselare except all of the drivers arriving and getting to grips with the track, and day 2 is not much different. Controlled practice started today (Tuesday) and so the first times have come out, but as it is still practice i wouldnt read into the times too much as i heard the track is still trying to lose its coating of dust and for the grip to really come up and people are still practicing and so not running at full race pace for the entire session. Local racer Steve Lambrechts is topping the times, although he is 2 laps up on everyone so he seemed to be pushing it in his practice run, while another Belgian, Henriet Manuel is next up ahead of Swiss driver Traugott SchÃ¤r.

Mark Green wins Rd2 of UK 1/8th Nats

Mark Green was once again on top form as the British 1/8th National series headed south for the 2nd round of the championships. Taking place last weekend this event was run at the Crystal Palace circuit near London under warm Spring sunshine and it was indeed Mark that set the fastest qualifying time but was closely matched by local veteran Dave Dixon. In the main final Mark got away cleanly but Dixon ran into a stray pit man putting him out on the spot, which made it an easy run for Green to cruise home and take the win for Serpent ahead of Neil Diver in 2nd and Andrew North in 3rd.

SoCal Saturday series – Round 1

SoCal Saturday series - Round 1

Last Saturday saw the first round of the SoCal Saturday Series which took place at ‘The Dirt’ facility in California. The race was attended by all the big names including The Drake and World Champion Mark Pavidis as well as many other National and local hotshots. Adam Drake, racing for Losi, won both the Gas Truck class in a close race with Billy Laster, as well as the Pro Buggy class winning from Mugen racer Scott Hughes. Bobby Tullman took the Open Truggy win, only 3 seconds ahead of Ryan Lutz with Pavidis in 3rd.
