Tekin RS Pro Black Edition ESC & Spec-R BL motors

Tekin have introduced their new RS Pro Black Edition brushless speed controller and Spec-R motors. Starting with the ESC, the RS Pro Black Edition was developed with ultra low internal resistance in mind to boost the performance of 1S and 2S-powered stock motors. This was achieved by utilising both hardware and software advances in combination with the Ultra Low Resistance ULR circuit design and ULR flex wires. The controller measures 24.5x33x17.25mm, it weighs in at 35g and it has no motor limit, however Tekin recommends their RSX controller for all modified applications as these setups tend to run at higher temperatures and so the billet housing and fan shroud on the RSX will provide more sufficient cooling.

JConcepts 1/8th & 1/10th tyre balancer

Coming from JConcepts is their new tyre balancer suitable for 1/8th and 1/10th scale tyre and wheel combinations. The collapsible design rests in a lay-down configuration but pivots to a 90 degree stance and locks when in usable condition. The centre point of any balancer are the bearings, the free spinning action rests inside the hub design. The interchangeable thumb nuts for 1/10th and 1/8th wheel versatility are located on the main axle which can be moved from its home base position to its critical balancing position with ease. The upright is built in aluminium material, anodised blue, etched with instructions and chamfered for that extra lustrous look. The base of the item is built to protect, position and maintain a small footprint at all times. The base has four stand-off legs to hold a steady structure while a thumb screw secures the upright in either the up or down position. The all-aluminium and steel design comes set in a storage box for protection and travel convenience.

Rune Karlsen wins Norwegian 1/8th Buggy Champs

The Norwegian 1/8th Nitro Buggy Championships were held at the Hof MBK track last weekend. The biggest track in Norway offered a multi-surface layout with mostly dirt but an astro and a wooden corner, and also a paved stones section with made tyre choice critical. Nearly 50 drivers signed in and the weekend would kick off on Friday with the first practice sessions. During Saturday’s qualifiers Rune Karlsen took the overnight TQ from Bjorn Ivar and Yngve Brække Ulfset. Going into the main final a total of six drivers looked to be able to take the win, making it the strongest field in many years. From the tone, Rune would be in the lead followed by Daniel and Yngve. Some nine laps into the race Yngve made a mistake and let Rune and Daniel play a little before Rune started to push a little harder. His strategy worked out as Daniel made a mistake. Now Rune was on fire and just getting a bigger lead. 40 minutes in the final Rune had lapped everybody while Daniel was in 2nd place at that time, but Bjorn Ivar was faster and took over the 2 spot. In the closing stages Yngve got past as well as Daniel made a big mistake. Ultimately Rune Karlsen (Kyosho) would take the win from Bjorn Ivar Haug (Kyosho) 2nd and Yngve Brække Ulfset (Mugen) 3rd.

Speedzone introduce new modified & stock BL motors

Speedzone have introduced their latest brushless motor based on months of testing and previous customer feedback. This latest motor is the most powerful, efficient, tunable and lightweight motor ever offered by Speedzone. The motor’s can was built to allow maximum air flow, keeping temperature cool and the motor efficient. The stator was designed to produce the very best resistance while being as light as possible without sacrificing performance and power. In addition, the sensor board was built with strict tolerances which now translates to evenly distributed sensor board numbers. A variety of spec and modified turns are available and they are bench tested to ensure sensor, stator and ball bearings are all functioning to a strict quality control. Optional spec and modified rotors will be available for tuning to various track surfaces and conditions.
