Serpent SDX4 centre gear differential

Coming from Serpent and made for the SDX4 1/10th scale4WD buggy is a centre differential set. Same as the front and rear diffs with the exception of the spur gear, the differential features moulded composite internals for a low weight and an interchangeable main gear, that is available in 82T to 88T specifications, for convenient gear ratio changes. Using the centre diff over a slipper clutch will calm down the car’s on-power reactions and the diff set is available now.

Mugen Seiki Europe have announced the addition of Germany’s Carsten Keller to their team. The multi national champion will campaign Mugen’s MBX7R nitro and electric buggies at all major national and international events.

HRC Racing StreetFighter monster truck tyres

HRC Distribution have introduced the HRC Racing StreetFighter tyres for 1/10th monster trucks. Utilising 6-spoke rims with 14mm hex adapters, the tyres are a direct fit on the Team Magic E5 series trucks but they also fit a range of other vehicles. Thanks to the on-road tread the tyres are ideal for street racing or running on packed dirt surfaces.

Batley Winter Series finale – Report

Batley Buggy Club, in West Yorkshire, North of England hosted the concluding round of the Batley Winter Series at their indoor venue MB Raceway this past weekend. The race series saw 145 competitors race in five rounds across three 1/10th off road classes, 2WD, 4WD and Under 13 2WD Buggy, on the EOS carpet track. Batley club has a 25 year history of nurturing junior racing talent, and this series has proven to be one of the most successful in the region for young racers, with twenty five under 13’s entering the series in fierce competition for the top place trophies. 2WD Buggy was particular well contended with 15 year old Thomas Gill (Yokomo), taking the series win, from second place Ross Barras (Yokomo) and Jim Furniss (Team Associated) third.

Jason Nugroho wins Indonesia Buggy Championship Rd1

The MRCC Track in Medan, North Sumatera played host to the opening round of the Indonesia National Buggy Championship. A total of 49 drivers attended the event whose schedule saw six rounds of 10-minute qualifying with the four best rounds to count. Due to heavy rain after the second qualifier the race director decided to cut short the qualifying and make it four rounds with the best three to count. In the end Rama Tribudiman (Team Associated/O.S.) took the TQ honours but in the 60-minute main final he suffered several flameouts and only finished in 11th place while Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) took the win from Adrian Wicaksono (HB Racing/Reds Raicng) and Stanley W (HB Racing/O.S.) in second and third respectively.

Jean Pierrick Sartel wins French Buggy regionals opener

The opening round of the French Buggy regionals was held at the Noeux Les Mines track over the weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class Jean Pierrick Sartel (Xray) took the TQ after the three rounds of qualifying and he would also take the win in the main from tone to tone in front of TLR driver Theo Lemaire and Kyosho’s Cedric Nickell.

Xray XB4 +4.5mm aluminium wheel hex adapter

Xray have introduced new +4.5mm offset aluminium wheel hex adapters for the XB4 buggy. Made from 7075-T6 aluminium and coming black anodised the 12mm clamping design adapter offers milled sections for a reduced weight while 4.5mm offset allows to adjust the overall width of the car to suit different offset rims.

Griffin Hanna brings home Serpent Challenge 2WD win

The Serpent Challenge was held at The Track in Gaitherburg, Maryland, home of the 2017 ROAR 1/10th Electric Off-Road Nationals. Griffin Hanna would take the TQ in both the 2WD and 4WD Modified Buggy classes and he would also bring home the win in 2WD while suffering several issues with backmarkers in 4WD, eventually finishing in 3rd place behind the winner, Enzo Albertoni and runner-up, Jay Drakeford.
