Neijc Mihelic wins Austrian 1/8 On-road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the Austrian 1/8th On-road National Championship was held at the Sollenau track over the weekend. Right from the start of the free practice it became clear that both Neijc Mihelic and team mate Herfried Pucher would be in the mix for the overall win. Come qualifying Pucher would walk away with the TQ in round one some 0.5 seconds in front of Mihelic. In round two the young Slovenian fought back and won in front of Pucher by 0.4 seconds and ultimately Mihelic would take the TQ honours in front of Pucher, who set a new track record in 16.876 seconds, being the only driver to score a sub-17 seconds lap. Pucher, Levy, Vignjevic and Dokter would be the drivers to attend in the Super Pole race with Pucher ultimately proceeding directly to the main final while the others had to go through their respective semi finals.

BMT 701 hard suspension arm set

Italian company BMT has introduced a hard suspension arm set for the 701 1/10th 200mm touring car. Moulded from a harder compound the arms offer increased stiffness which results in improved handling and precision when running in high grip and/or high temperature conditions.

HSH-Yokomo Sunday Race – Report

Round 1 of the HSH-Yokomo Sunday Race was held this past weekend at the Dintikon track in Switzerland with about 50 drivers in attendance. The race was held in the four classes of Touring Modified, Formula, Touring Pro Stock Race Truck and Yokomo Acadamy Kids. In the premier Touring Modified class it was Michele Manzo taking the win, just a week after his victory at the first Swiss championship race, in front of Florian Hauser and Oliver Krähenmann.

Speed Passion SP1.1 1/10th formula car kit

Speed Passion have introduced the latest incarnation of their SP1 1/10th formula car kit, the SP1.1. The revised kit will include several improvements such as a new carbon fibre caster block, a new upper deck with in-line stiffener for increased longitudinal chassis stiffness and it comes with a new aluminium 7075 servo mount and a big bore centre shock absorber. Other features include a new centre friction tube, pure carbon fibre chassis and upper deck, aircraft-grade 7075-T6 alloy parts and carbon-reinforced composite parts. Included with the kit are also several option parts such as a 30mm high-speed motor cooling fan, a front and rear wing set, a Speed Passion Mk1 body shell, and also a motor heatsink. The kit is available separately or as a combo set including a Speed Passion Competition 3.0 21.5T brushless motor and a Reventon Stock Club Race speed controller.

Arrowmax 1/10th touring car tool set

Coming from Arrowmax is a 1/10th touring car specific tool set. It includes 1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 3.0mm hex wrenches, a 3.0mm suspension arm reamer, a 7mm nut driver as well as a small body post reamer and pair of spring steel turnbuckle wrenches in 3mm and 4mm sizes. Black Fabrica V2 200mm nitro touring wing end plates

In addition to the V1 200mm nitro touring car wing end plates we reported about yesterday, Black Fabrica have now introduced the V2 variants featuring a 45 degree chamfer. Precision-cut to 50mm x 35mm dimensions from 0.5mm 6k twill weave carbon fibre the IFMAR-legal V2 end plates sport a 10mm 45 degree chamfer in the rear lower corner for added looks. The set includes three left and three right hand plates in either high gloss or satin finish and they fit all IFMAR-legal 200mm touring car rear wings.

Tamiya M-07 Concept – Production kit image

Another day, another piece in the puzzle of Tamiya’s forthcoming all-new M-07 Concept M-chassis kit. Tamiyablog have released a first image of what appears to be the production ready car with the photo making it easy to spot the new exoframe design that also made the company’s TA-07 touring car famous. No news so far on an exact release date but expect the kit to hit stores about end of June.

LRP FlowX Stock Spec brushless speed controller

LRP have introduced their new FlowX Stock Spec speed controller. Based off of the standard FlowX speedo the Stock Spec variant features the optimised V5.1 firmware to get the most out of today’s brushless stock motors. The Initial Drive Feel Compensation function for example adapts the throttle curve throughout the run to compensate motor fade and to ensure a constant throttle feeling till the end of a run. Also new is the BDX-S brake purpose designed for on-road and off-road stock racing classes. Other features include a blue anodised all-aluminium case, a black 175mm long receiver wire, a set of lightweight fan mount screws and all-black power wires.
