Ulti 01A & G5 traction compounds

Coming from Ulti are two traction compounds for rubber and foam tyres. First up is 01A, a mild tyre sauce that only moderately softens the tyre while keeping the front-to-rear balance and being gently on the rubber, preventing excessive tyre wear. The second new tyre compound is G5 that, from what is understood, is about two to four times as strong as 01A. Both oil-based traction compounds are made in Japan and they come in metal cans for convenient and secure transportation and storage.

Minicar Fiorano Trophy – Report

The Minicar Trophy was held yesterday at the beautiful Miniautodromo Jody Scheckter track in Fiorano, Italy. The race featured both national and international top driver entries, and is widely seen as the opening race of the outdoor season in mid-northern Italy. In the highly competitive 1/8th Nitro On-road class it was Massari to take the TQ honour, followed by Solaroli and Mazzeo. The final would see a completely different story though, with Mattia Collavo outclassing the whole field also thanks to his risky tyre strategy that paid dividends towards the end of the race. Changing tyres mid-race, this allowed him to have a much faster pace in the closing minutes, and to recover from a costly fuel strategy to edge Luca Conte and take a convincing victory on his debut with the new ARC R8.1. Luca Conte closed in second with his Shepherd while the podium was completed by the Xray of Alessio Mazzeo.

Viktor Wilck takes Swedish Indoor Nationals title

This past weekend the Swedish Indoor Nationals were held at the new Hässleholm track with a total of 70 drivers competing in the three classes of Touring Car, 1/12th scale and Formula. The entry list saw names such as local star Daniel Carlsson and national aces like Marcus Hellqvist, Fabian Vernersson, Jonas Andersson and Viktor Wilck. In the Touring class qualifying Wilck would TQ all rounds to line up in 1st for the finals followed by Hellqvist and Carlsson. Wilck would then also dominate the finals but a miss fortune with a lapped car in A2 kept tension high until the last final. Wilck would then cruise to a solid victory in front of Hellqvist who took the vice championship title, while Daniel Carlsson would take 3rd to complete the podium.
