Hobbywing XeRun XR10 Stock Spec – Full details

Following first teaser images and brief information, Hobbywing have now officially revealed the XeRun XR10 Stock Spec brushless speed controller. Housed in a black anodised aluminium case with incorporated heatsink the purpose-designed stock class controller is of smaller dimensions than the popular XR10 Pro 160A controller. With a footprint of 31.5×25.6mm and a weight of 28g without wires the speedo makes it easier to place it in crowded environments. Despite the smaller size the controller boasts with a lot of features such as a high-voltage 7.4V BEC system, an 80A rating and it sports a patent pending dual switch design with the internal electronic switch is backed by an additional one that attaches to the rear part of the case, making for easier handling when the car’s body is already installed or when the internal switch is hard to reach. On the software side of things the XR10 Stock Spec is packed with a special firmware that includes pre-configured stock racing profiles for on-road and off-road, it features adjustable throttle and brake PWM frequency settings and the ESC is adjustable using Hobbywing’s WiFi Express module and a mobile device and also using Hobbywing’s LCD programming box.

Desoto family takes ROAR Fuel On-road titles

The recent 2016 ROAR Fuel On-road Nationals were held at the Homestead RC Raceway in Florida. The 1/8th Masters class was TQ’d and won by Joaquin Desoto Sr. with a 1-lap margin on Dana Smeltzer while Greg Esser ended the race another three laps down. In 1/8th GT ROAR Spec Joaquin Desoto Jr. brought home the win from TQ holder Scotty Gray by a narrow 7 seconds after the 45-minute finale. Robbie Cerrato completed the top 3 result.

Malaysia National Championship finale – Report

The sixth and final round of the Malaysia National Championships was recently held with about 80 drivers attending in the Touring Modified, Super Stock and Stock classes. In Touring Modified TQ holder Adik Haikal (Xray) would bring home the day’s win from Norazam (Xray) and Michael Lim (Xray). Shahrin (Yokomo) and Wong Kok Wai (Awesomatix) would round out the top 5 result.

ARC R11 2017 electric touring car kit

ARC have introduced the latest incarnation of their R11 electric touring car kit. The 2017 variant is an evolution of the R11 platform with the refinements made targeting improved consistency in a variety of grip conditions and also upped overall performance. First up comes the new main chassis that is made of specially sourced carbon fibre for higher strength and stiffness while the redesigned shape makes for more balanced flex characteristics. This is further backed by a reshaped upper deck that increases overall chassis stiffness for an improved handling.

Shepherd have announced the latest option part for the Velox F1 in the form of the high rear wing mount. This new option part is especially developed for low grip conditions and allows for a much higher mounting position of the rear wing compared to the standard part. The result is improved downforce and rear stability. The mount is made from high-quality carbon fibre material and it is available from now on.

Atomic AMZ BZ 98mm wheelbase alloy chassis

Atomic have introduced a 98mm wheelbase aluminium main chassis plate for the AMZ BZ micro RC car. Replacing the standard carbon fibre chassis with a less flexible aluminium part will result in improved car control especially in very high-bite conditions. The chassis is machined from high-quality 7075 aluminium, it features extensive machining for optimised flex characteristics and a lower weight and it comes with a black finish and silver chamfered edges for looks and better ground clearance during hard cornering.

RC-Cox have introduced a range of screw kits for the Xray T4’17 and Roche Rapide P12 2016 cars. Available for Xray’s latest electric touring car are a mixed 64-grade titanium and 7075-T6 orange anodised aluminium screw kit as well as an all 7075-T6 kit, an all 64-grade titanium set as well as a gold-plated steel screw kit. Coming for the Rapide P12 2016 are a mixed titanium and alloy fastener kit containing red anodised aluminium screws, a red anodised all-alloy set, an all-titanium set and of course the odd gold-plated steel fasteners.
