Xray Racing Series Alpe Adria Rd2 – Report

Round 2 of the Xray Racing Series Alpe Adria was held at the Mini Autodrom Ayrton Senna in Zagreb, Croatia. Drivers from six different countries including Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Germany, Italy and Slovenia attended the event, giving it some international flair. The weekend started off with nice weather and pleasing temperatures on Saturday although mixed weather and cooler conditions were on the forecast for Sunday and because of the chance of rain the first qualifiers were held on Saturday evening.

Ultimate Racing nitro engine throttle return spring

Modelix Racing have introduced the Ultimate Racing throttle return spring for .12 to .21 nitro engines. Attached to the carburettor throttle linkage ball the spring will ensure the carb is closed in the event of a lost or broken linkage or during electronic failures, sending the engine to idle and thus saving the vehicle from becoming uncontrollable. The spring is usable with on-road and off-road engines alike.

Maxi Vogl wins rainy South German regionals Rd1

The opening round of the South German nitro on-road regionals was held at the MCC Türkheim track. In Saturday’s dry 1/8th class qualifying it was Maxi Vogl who took the top qualifier honours and he would also come out on top after Sunday’s rain-soaked main final. Armin Baier would end the day on the 2 spot some two laps down with Bastian Gramlich completing the podium another lap down.

Radtec T4 Premium steel spool outdrives & C-blades

Radtec have introduced their newly designed Premium steel spool outdrives for the Xray T4 line of touring cars. Machined from high-quality spring steel and coming with a heat-treated surface for wear, the outdrives are of a dual design that allows to run the car with our without the included POM C-blades. Using the blades will make for a smoother overall feeling in corners and reduced wear while the direct design makes for a more aggressive feeling in corners on the expense of slightly increased parts wear.

Kyosho TF7 front belt tensioner set

Coming from Kyosho and made for the TF7 touring car is a front belt tensioner set. A direct fit to the top deck of the car, the set includes a machined and red anodised aluminium mount as well as ball bearings, shims and bushings to create a class-standard tensioner that keeps the front belt from wobbling and skipping under load.

Reds Racing VX 540 17.5T high torque brushless motor

Coming from Reds Racing is the new VX540 17.5T high torque electric brushless motor. Complementing the already existing 13.5T and 21.5T high torque variants, the motor offers a precision-machined 6061-T6 high airflow can, a balanced sintered rotor as well as low resistance solder tabs. The specially tuned motor will offer increased low-RPM torque while maintaining unchanged top speed, making it ideal for tracks that requires both lots of bottom end power and speed.

Kyle Branson successful at BRCA 200mm Nats Rd2

The second round of the BRCA 1/10th IC circuit championship was held at the Halifax track. In qualifying it was Capricorn’s Kyle Branson who managed to take the TQ and set a new track record ahead of Joe Kerry, followed by Alex Thurston in 3rd and Mark Green in 4th. The final got under way with Kyle managing to pull a gap early on from Mark, who managed to get into 2nd in the opening laps. A great battle was going on from around the 10 minute mark with Alex and Mark fighting for the 2nd spot for almost the remainder of the race. After 30 minutes it was Kyle who took the win with his Capricorn car nearly two laps ahead of the two Serpents of Mark in 2nd and Alex in 3rd.
