Reedy Pro LiPo/LiFe RX & TX battery packs

Reedy have introduced their new range of Pro LiPo and LiFe RX/TX batteries that feature high capacities and durable construction, which make them perfectly suited for use as receiver batteries in nitro-powered vehicles. They are also a long-life alternative to NiMH and alkaline batteries in a variety of transmitters. A standard power plug fits directly into the transmitter or receiver/switch harness while a XH balance connector allows for simple balance charging. The LiPo batteries are available as 2400mAh 7.4V flat or 2700mAh 7.4V hump pack while the LiFe packs come as 1600mAh 6.6V flat or 1900mAh 6.6V hump variant.

Xray X12’18 EU & US Edition 1/12th scale kits

Xray have introduced the 2018 variant of their successful X12 1/12th scale pan car with next year’s edition being available as EU- and US-specific variant. Both follow the same design language although they differ in details such as chassis materials and front suspension, making the EU version suitable for very low to high traction conditions while the US version is meant to excel on medium to very high traction tracks as they are popular in the U.S.A..

Alexandre Duchet teams up with SRT

SRT have announced the signing of 2016/17 ETS Pro Stock champion, Alexandre Duchet to their team. Formerly using Highest servos, Alexandre now made the switch to SRT to campaign their low-profile servos such as the BH8015 HV brushless servo. Alex says:

Steven Olsen takes Danish Touring outdoor title

The final round of the Danish DRCMU On-road Nationals was held at the ORCM track just outside of Odense. Saturday’s practice was pretty much washed away although in the morning some runs could be completed. Sunday race day and the weather was much better and in the Touring 13.5T class the race for the title was on between Steven Olsen and local driver Niklas Engholm. Ultimately Steven would hold the upper hand, taking the P2 spot on the grid behind local driver Jesper Rasmussen and in front of Niklas. While Jesper checked out in every A-main leg Steven concentrated on bringing home the runner-up spot which would be enough to win the championship and ultimately he was able to do so. The final results would see Jesper in front of Steven and Ole Villumsen while Niklas had to settle for 4th overall. As for the championship, Steven Olsen (Xray) would take the Super Stock title from Niklas Engholm (Team Associated) and Jesper Rasmussen (Team Associated). Ole Villumsen (Xray) and Peter Strandskov (Xray) rounded out the top 5 result.

Prolix RC sidewall doctor gluing device

Prolix RC’s sidewall doctor is a high torque, full metal gear system for gluing the sidewalls of on-road RC tyres. The device can spin very slowly and the gear reduction has enough torque to keep spinning even when the CA tip strikes the tyre. Available are four different size circle adaptors to help mark out and precisely glue the tyres to the preferred glue height and they are available in three separate packages. The high grip option contains 59 and 60mm disks, standard includes 59.5 and 58.5mm disks, and complete option has all four. Each also comes with a paint marker and wheel adapters for Formula and 1/12th scale cars are available separately.

Tekin RS Pro Black Edition ESC & Spec-R BL motors

Tekin have introduced their new RS Pro Black Edition brushless speed controller and Spec-R motors. Starting with the ESC, the RS Pro Black Edition was developed with ultra low internal resistance in mind to boost the performance of 1S and 2S-powered stock motors. This was achieved by utilising both hardware and software advances in combination with the Ultra Low Resistance ULR circuit design and ULR flex wires. The controller measures 24.5x33x17.25mm, it weighs in at 35g and it has no motor limit, however Tekin recommends their RSX controller for all modified applications as these setups tend to run at higher temperatures and so the billet housing and fan shroud on the RSX will provide more sufficient cooling.

Sidney Blokker wins Touring Modified at Dutch Nats Rd5

Round 5 of the Dutch Electric On-road Nationals was held at the technical track of Deventer. The small track offers plenty of grip but also high kerbs which would play a major role in the race. The premier Touring Modified class is run according to EFRA rules and only a single set of Volante 36R tyres is allowed for the entire race. In Q1 and on new tyres, Mitchell Van Es (Awesomatix) took P1 in front of Florian Joos (Tamiya) and Sidney Blokker (Yokomo). Then Florian managed to win Q2 thanks to an error from Mitchell in the last lap but Mitchell stroke back and won Q3 in front of Sidney and Florian. This meant Mitchell would take P1 on the grid in front of Florian, Sidney, Rick van den Akker (Xray) and Niek Middelkoop (Xray).

Contact GT12 control tyres

Schumacher have introduced the new Contact GT12 control tyres. GT12 racing has become more complex over recent times with a myriad of different foam compounds to find the ultimate performance. Now Contact RC are taking it back to basics which made GT12 racing so successful. These new control tyres with an easily identifiable green stripe can be adopted at local clubs and larger events to have a more level playing field for all, and keep costs down. The control tyres are available in only one compound, 40 shore front trued to 44mm and 37 shore rear trued to 46mm, selected to give the perfect balance for the majority of conditions.
