Martin tops practice at Hudy Arena

Lee Martin has kicked off the third round of the Euro Offroad Series at the Hudy Arena at the top of the times, the Yokomo driver setting the fastest 2WD seeding time ahead of British compatriot Neil Cragg in Slovakia. With the EOS organisers taking over the building of the track at what is the home of Xray, the layout is one of the busiest to feature in the championship will all drivers enjoying the greater level of difficulty which is expected to throw up some surprise results.  One such surprise already is young Daniel Kobbevik who took his Yokomo to the third fastest time ahead of the quickest Xray in the hands of Hupo Honigl. Having come into the event in confident mood following his EOS Round 2 and DHI Cup form, Michal Orlowski’s weekend has not started off well with the championship leader unable to get 3-laps together leaving him 21st fastest and out of the top heat for qualifying.

Maverick iON alloy shocks, steering arms & motor mount

HPI Racing have introduced three new Maverick aluminium option parts for the iON line of mini-size vehicles. First up is an aluminium shock absorber set. Machined from high-quality material and featuring an all-alloy construction with the bodies, upper and lower caps all made from the lightweight material, the dampers come in a matte amber gold colour to match with the remainder of the company’s option parts. Also new are the aluminium steering arms for the iON line of vehicles. The amber gold anodised parts are direct replacements and they improve durability and looks. Last but not least comes an aluminium motor mount. It improved heat dissipation and durability while also making for a more precise gear mesh setting. The above parts fit all iON-series vehicles.

Nosram P5-HV 2017 LiHV battery packs

UK Nosram distributors Schumacher have introduced three new P5-HV Lithium-Polymer high-voltage battery packs. Made utilising high-performance cells the 7.6V packs offer a low resistance, less heat build-up under load and thus maximised power until the end of the run. Although of high-voltage specifications the soon BRCA-legal packs offer more power than Nosram’s 2016 packs when charged to the currently legal 8.4V. Available are a 22.3mm tall LCG 6400mAh standard size pack, a 19.5mm high Ultra LCG 5500mAh standard size battery and also a 4200mAh shorty pack that is of “real shorty” dimensions. All use red translucent hardcases with 5mm tube-style connectors and they comply with EFRA, IFMAR, ROAR, JMRCA, BRCA and DMC rules.

Traxxas Ford Fiesta ST NOS Deegan 38 RTR rally car

Traxxas’ popular 1/10th Rally car is soon available in a new bodyshell variant, coming as Ford Fiesta ST NOS Deegan 38. The 4WD chassis is based off of the Slash 4WD SC truck, it comes with a low centre of gravity tub chassis, oil-filled Ultra Shocks, and a brushless-ready full-time 4WD drivetrain. Race-proven, Revo-spec gear differentials make for great traction both on-road and off-road while the Titan 12T 550-size motor and waterproof XL-5 speed controller allow for exceptional speed right out of the box. The kit is completed by a TQ 2.4GHz radio system, grippy all-terrain tyres on black multi-spoke rims and a pre-decorated Ford Fiesta ST body.

Schelle B6 0.5mm carbon bulkhead shims

Schelle Racing Innovations have introduced a set of 0.5mm carbon fibre bulkhead shims for the Team Associated B6 buggy. They allow to shimming the front bulkhead, and thus the inner pivot, lower to the ground to give extra steering in tight turns. US midwest and Australia outdoor racers swear by this setup on a B6D and the set includes two US-made 0.5mm shims that can be stacked up to get up to 1.0mm lower front pins.

Rivals out to crash Xray house party at EOS Slovakia

The Euro Offroad Series reaches the midway stage in the 2016/17 Championship this weekend (3-5 Feb) as drivers descend on the Hudy Racing Arena in Slovakia. The world famous home track of reigning 4WD champions Xray, the visiting rival teams will be out to try & crash any home victory party the host manufacturer might have planned with Bruno Coelho in particular the driver they are all out to beat. Leading the 4WD standings after the first two rounds having won the season opener, Coelho took victory at his second-home last year enroute to becoming EOS Champion in his debut season.

Reds Racing sign Hu Wei Ping

Reds Racing have announced the addition of Chinese Champion, Hu Wei Ping to their factory team. Hu Wei will use Reds Racing’s line of nitro engines while attending events throughout Asia and Reds Racing are looking forward to a successful 2017 season and beyond.

Xray Racing Series Slovakia Rd3 – Report

Round three of the Xray Racing Series Slovakia was held at the Hudy Racing Arena and with over 100 entries for a total of nine classes. The premier class of Touring Car Modified was dominated by Martin Hudy who took the TQ and overall win. Behind him, the race was on for the remaining podium spots and it would be Oliver Havranek, coming from the 4 spot on the grid, and Arkadiusz Smyk from P6 who grabbed the final podium spots.
