Tesla T1 Buggy 3.5cc nitro off-road engine

Capricorn have introduced the Tesla T1 Buggy 3.5cc nitro off-road engine. The power plant features a DLC-coated and silicone-filled crankshaft, a 5-port cylinder and steel ball bearings. Included are a variety of venturi inserts for the and the lightened cooling head is laser engraved for looks and easy recognition.

RDRP RC8B3 machined Delrin shock parts

Coming from Revolution Design Racing Products are the RC8B3 machined shock parts, a direct replacement for the kit’s rod guides and lower O-ring bushings. Precisely machined from high-quality Delrin the parts improve the O-ring seal fit for optimised sealing, better shock rod guidance and a more efficient shock performance. The set includes four shock rod guides and four lower bushings, enough to equip all four shock absorbers of a car. The set is compatible to all 3rd generation RC8 kits including the RC8B3, RC8B3e, RC8T3 and RC8T3e.

Yardy & Crompton score at Silverstone Winter Series Rd5

The recent fifth round of the Silverstone Winter Series saw Tom Yardy walking away with the TQ and win in the hotly contested 2WD class. In the final he was pushed hard by Charlie Ware. The two collided halfway through and Charlie showed great sportsmanship by giving the lead back to Tom who then held on to win by a tenth of a second, with Dave Poulter in 3rd.

Adrian Wicaksono wins HTS Grand Opening race

Hobby Track Sukoharjo, in Solo, Central Java held their grand opening race this past weekend. The first permanent indoor track in Indonesia measures 70x40m and the event attracted over 50 drivers from Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Jogjakarta, Medan, Kupang, Bali as well as many local drivers. The race format would be six rounds of 10 minute qualifying with the four best rounds to count followed by bump-up finals. Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) would take the TQ honours, but in the 60-minute final it was HB Racing/Reds Racing’s Adrian Wicaksono who came out on top from Jason with Kyosho/O.S. pilot, Hariadi Lie in third.

Pijpers & van Katwijk win at MIO Race Rd4

Round four of the Model Indoor Oss race series was recently held and it saw Jarno Pijpers taking the TQ in the 2WD Buggy class. Jarno then also took the win in the opening final but mistakes in A2 promoted Wouter Wijnen into the lead that he could hold onto until the checkered flag. The third and final main would then decide for the day’s win and holding his nerves together allowed Jarno to come out on top and to take overall victory from Wouter Wijnen in second and Steve Lamberts in third.

Adam Drake sweeps Top Notch Tour

Dialed In Raceway played host to the final round of the Top Notch Tour this past weekend. The event had 100 entries and Adam Drake was the top qualifier in Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truck. Unfortunately the main events got rained out and the finishing order was awarded based on qualifying. With the result Drake also got overall champion in Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truck.

Xray XB8 2017 1/8th nitro buggy kit

Following a series of teasing images Xray have finally revealed the 2017 variant of their popular XB8 1/8th nitro buggy platform. The follow-up model of the 2016 EFRA vice European Champion is based on a 3mm 7075-T6 aluminium chassis that makes for an updated weight distribution and it utilises a range of redesigned drivetrain and suspension parts to further up the overall performance and to make for optimised traction in a range of conditions. Starting up front the 2017 kit comes with more narrow front lower arms that sit in a more forward position while new trailing axle front steering knuckles increase forward traction, resulting in better handling. On top of this do improved steering pivot balls eliminate unwanted wheel lock at high steering angles.
