TOP Racing tease single belt touring car

German TOP Racing distributors RC-Kleinkram have issued first preview images of a forthcoming single belt 1/10th electric touring car. Available from end of October will be a conversion kit for the Sabre S4 with full kits following in the very near future. The conversion is based on a carbon fibre main chassis with extensive machining around the centre line while the upper deck is of a pretty slim appearance. The drivetrain utilises dual aluminium belt pulleys and the steering system can be built as chassis mounted or floating assembly. More information and images become available in time for the release.

Arrowmax 10mm black/golden droop gauge blocks

The latest in the line of Arrowmax’s black and golden tool range are 10mm droop gauge blocks. Machined from aluminium and sporting a honeycomb design the blocks are the perfect match for the company’s touring car droop gauge as they make for a solid base when measuring the suspension droop. The parts are finished off with a black and golden anodising as well as golden lettering.

Scott Falk to provide Xray Formula tech support

Xray have announced the appointment of Scott Falk as their Formula team mechanic and tech support. Scott will provide service and technical help to all Xray X1 customers at the ETS races and also some major international races. Scott says:

I feel very honoured to be the part of Team Xray. Last formula season was very successful for Xray and I believe that we can build on it and be even more successful this upcoming season. I will give my best to support and help the formula team manager Jan Ratheisky and all Xray customers. So don’t be afraid and come to me if you want to know something or you need a help with your set-up. I can’t wait for the start of the next season and I am looking forward to see you all.

SMJ T4’16 +5mm front bumper

SMJ T4'16 +5mm front bumper

Speedmaster Japan have introduced their new +5mm front bumper for the Xray T4’16. Offering additional 5mm of foam in the front, the bumper better suits front-mounted bodyshells while doing away with the need to glue additional foam strips to the standard bumper to achieve propper body support. On top of this the bumper is also made from a much stronger foam material, improving overall crash resistance and chassis protection in the event of a direct hit while the updated design also gives better tyre clearance at full steering lock. The bumper will hit stores very soon and it is understood that it also fits Xray’s latest T4’17 kit.

VBC Racing Wildfire D09 touring car kit

Following first teaser images VBC Racing have now officially introduced their forthcoming Wildfire D09 1/10th scale 4WD electric touring car kit. Completely redesigned from the ground up, the car utilises a newly designed carbon fibre main chassis and top deck with optimised flex characteristics. A new motor mount offers five adjustable flex configurations and the Center Isoflex Linkage system allows for improved torsional flex while keeping the chassis stiffness in longitudinal direction.

T-Works Rapide P12-2016 screw & turnbuckle sets

T-Works have introduced a range of optional screw kits as well as a titanium turnbuckle set for the Roche Rapide P12-2016 pan car. As for the screws, available are a 60-piece titanium set with UFO heads, a 60-piece standard head set, black or red anodised 7075-T6 sets, mixed titanium and alloy kits, again in black or red colour, as well as a gold-plated steel screw kit. As for the titanium turnbuckle set, it includes 64-grade material steering and upper camber links and also a suitable 4mm wrench for both applications.

Bill Sydor wins Spec GT class at IIC 2016

The recent International Indoor Championships in Las Vegas not only saw 1/12th scale and Touring Car racing but also the running of the popular Spec GT class. The category offered super close racing all week, thanks to having handout motor and speed control, as well as a FDR limit. In qualifying, Rod Canare would take the TQ spot, with Devin Patterson starting second and Bill Sydor starting third. In the main, a tap from Canare on the first lap would put him back in the pack, moving Patterson and Sydor to the top. Sydor would follow in Patterson’s shadow for a few laps, and on lap 8 Patterson made a small mistake on the curbing, allowing just enough space for Sydor to go through, giving him the lead which he would not relinquish.

Avid Triad titanium wing screws

Coming from Avid are the new Triad titanium wing screws. A minimal design approach the screws already incorporate a wing button, resulting in an ultra-low weight of 0.34g each. They are machined from billet 6Al-4V titanium, feature a 12mm screw head and a 6mm long screw, making them ideal for both 1/10th scale off-road and on-road applications. The screws come in sets of two and in a silver polished or cool-looking oil slick finish.
