Spektrum SR2010 DSMR micro race receiver

The Spektrum SR2010 DSMR micro race receiver, that is part of the company’s innovative S6240RX servo and receiver unit, is also available separately for those who look for a tiny and lightweight unit. Offering a footprint of 25.5×17.6mm at a height of 13.6mm, the receiver weighs in at 5.5g and it utilises the DSMR frequency-agile surface protocol with a response rate of 5.5ms. The transparent case features an integrated antenna holder and the internals of the 3/2-channel receiver are protected using a Reliakote coating. The high-voltage compatible receiver furthermore features an improved antenna design optimise RF signal strength and it is usable with Spektrum DSMR-compatible transmitters.

Spektrum S6240RX digital servo & receiver unit

Coming soon from Spektrum is the S6240RX digital high-speed servo and receiver unit. The servo itself features the durability of metal gears and is capable of delivering down to 0.08s transit times along with 15.0kg-cm of torque. The built-in SR2010 2-channel receiver gives racers a sense of response that feels almost instantaneous, especially when used with a DSMR radio capable of 5.5ms transmission. Both the servo and receiver are housed in a 20mm case that measures 30mm in hight which is in-between a standard and a low-profile servo. The servo and receiver unit is best used for 2WD buggy applications but may also suit many other classes.

Stadler & Hettrich win at MCSS Open

The MCSS was recently held in Leonberg and in the Touring Modified class it was Dionys Stadler who came out fastest after the A-mains. Behind him Dominik Fleischmann and Marco Kaufmann completed the top 3 result. Elsewhere in the Stock class Valentin Hettrich brought home the win while Noah Asendorf had to settle for second. At the end and after some great fights he was able to bring home the runner-up spot from Alexandre Kunkler.

IGT8 welcome Paolo Morganti

IGT8 have announced the signing of high-profile racer Paolo Morganti for the 2017 season. Paolo will be attending most big events throughout North, Central and South America while also assisting with product development. IGT8 and Paolo begin this new relationship just in time for probably the largest GT event of the year, “The Pan American”, which is being held later this week at Homestead RC Raceway. Paolo has the following to say:

HPI Flux MLH-2200 BL motor & ELH-6S speed controller

HPI Racing have introduced the Flux MLH-2200 brushless motor and ELH-6S brushless speed controller for 1/8th scale vehicles. Starting with the motor, the 6S-compatible item utilises a machined aluminium case with eleven heat-radiating ribs to help with heat dissipation during demeaning on-track action. Rated at 2200kv the motor also features 10-gauge wires, massive 6.5mm gold-plated connectors and it is of a 4-pole design for high torque, quick acceleration and a stable power output. The sensorless 4274-class motor is usable in most 1/8th buggies and trucks and it is available soon.

Capricorn medium on-road springs

Coming from Capricorn are new medium hardness on-road springs for their line of nitro-powered on-road cars. Brown in colour the springs sit in-between the slightly harder red and slighter softer white ones, adding another tuning option for various track conditions. The springs come as pairs for the front and rear of the cars and they are available very soon.

Syoki Takahata teams up with Mugen

Mugen Seiki have announced the signing of Japanese National Champion, Syoki Takahata to their factory nitro on-road team. The former KM Racing driver will campaign Mugen’s MRX6 and MTX6R kits in the upcoming season that will see appearances at the national championship and also at the IFMAR 1/8th On-road Worlds in France.

Picco have introduced the new S1 .12 Team high-end racing engine for the 1/10th 200mm touring car class. Featuring a longstroke design to deliver improved power throughout the entire RPM range, the power plant also sports a 7mm inner diameter front bearing and a low centre of gravity cooling head.
