JConcepts 1999 Ford Lightning Scalpel bodyshell

JConcepts 1999 Ford Lightning Scalpel bodyshell

JConcepts have introduced the 1999 Ford Lightning bodyshell for Scalpel converted Slash 4×4 trucks. The SVT F-150 Lightning body is built low and wide and excels when converted to the Scalpel speed run configuration. The high-speed shell features a short-wheelbase giving the scale look but with extra width to clear the wide-body tires for optimum handling and acceleration. Exterior elements that distinguish the Lightning from the regular F-150 include new upper and lower front grilles with a horizontal design that is unique to the Lightning in the F-Series line. The headlights, taillights, side-marker lights, and the signature round fog lights all match the full-scale counterpart found only on the Lightning, which give the exterior a clean, jewel-like appearance. The cab’s center high-mounted stop lamp also is unique to the Lightning, and is created with a simple detailed decal.

Revolution Design 4XS aluminium main chassis

Revolution Design 4XS aluminium main chassis

New from Revolution Design Racing Products is an aluminium main chassis plate for the Carisma 4XS 4WD buggy. The new chassis improves flex characteristics and makes the car a lot stiffer compared the standard carbon fibre chassis, which helps especially on high-grip surfaces like astroturf or carpet. The high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium chassis also lowers the overall centre of gravity, which is another improvement on high-grip tracks. Also incorporated into the design is an optional forward mounted battery location to increase steering, but also to improve the overall weight bias and handling of the car. The chassis is made in Germany and limited to 50 pieces only.

Alexander Landen dominates Swedish National Cup Rd1

Alexander Landen dominates Swedish National Cup Rd1

The opening round of the Swedish National Cup was held at the Boras MRK track in Viskafors in pretty cold weather conditions. Alexander Landen (Xray) would take the overall TQ in the 2WD class, run on Saturday, with two round TQs and a second place. In the finals the track started to develop a lot of pot holes and small bumps, making things not easy for the drivers. Alexander made the best out of the conditions and with good driving and a bit of luck the young man was able to bring home the win in A1 and A2 despite some serious pressure of Niclas Mansson (Team Associated) who had to settle for second. Marcus Lind (Yokomo) would round out the 2WD podium.

LMR 27 1/10th scale low-profile buggy wing

LMR 27 1/10th scale low-profile buggy wing

LMR have introduced their all-new 27 wing for the use with 1/10th off-road buggies. Designed with high-traction racing in mind the wing weighs in at only 17 gram while its low-profile design significantly lowers the car’s centre of gravity. For lower grip racing conditions the wing has a recess where an optional 1mm carbon fibre plate can sit and act as a stiffener, making this wing produce the maximum amount of downforce and still weighing less than 20 grams in the process. The pre-drilled plate, currently only available for Yokomo buggies, has three hole placements so the wing can be moved forward or back depending on the level of traction required.

BRCA 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals Rd2 - Report

Round two of the BRCA 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was held at the famous Robin Hood Raceway. As usual the 2WD portion of the event was held on Saturday and in round 1 of qualifying Neil Cragg would take the round by near 6 seconds. Craig Collinson came in 2nd and Kev Lee in 3rd. In round 2 Lee Martin would snatch the top spot from his team mate Tom Cockerill and with Craig in at the 3rd spot. Craig Collinson with a 3rd had already cemented his A-final. The 3rd round was again exhibition stuff from Neil Cragg to go some 5 seconds quicker on time and take round 3 with Lee in 2nd, Craig another 3rd with Tom Cockrill in 4th. The last round would decide the pole position on the grid, a shoot out between the superstars but a certain Tom Yardy popped up to the party to set a blistering time. It was the fastest at the time. Lee had it all to do and was on fire from the off. Lap by lap he was on and off beating Tom’s time and at the end he took another second off Tom’s time to take the fastest time of the day and also secure pole for the final. 2nd in round went to Tom Yardy with Neil in 3rd.
