Hupo Hönigl doubles at Austrian EP Buggy Nats Rd2

Round two of the Austrian Electric Off-road Nationals was held at the GMAC Litschau track in the very North of the country. The weather forecast wasn’t very promising with rain and low temperatures predicted but at the end the race would be completed without any delays although wind and cold temperatures made things pretty unpleasant. In the 2WD Buggy class Xray’s Hupo Hönigl made a clean sweep by taking the TQ and win from Marcel Rekettye (Yokomo) and Schumacher’s Peter Pinisch.

Schelle B5M 0.5mm offset steering bushings

Schelle Racing Innovations have introduced the 0.5mm offset steering bushing set for the Team Associated B5M buggy. The 0.5mm-Up setting was requested by many team drivers as their go-to, so Schelle made this special set of bushings to get the hot setup without using any shims or washers. The set is usable with the T5M and SC5M as well, with the 0.5-Down position being advised for trucks.

JR Mitch doubles at 4th annual JConcepts Judge race

The 4th annual JConcepts Judge race was hosted by GSHobby in the small town of Barling, Arkansas, just south-east of Fort Smith. The hobby shop has a club racing scene at the smaller indoor track which has collected a good number of local racers from around the general area. The JConcepts Judge brought all those racers back with a mix of people from out of town. In 2WD Mod Buggy the battle was between JR Mitch, Michael Twilling, Trevor Nault, Todd Sieler, and Bobby Woods. That’s how they qualified for the three A-mains on Sunday. A1 and A2 were taken by JR Mitch, leaving the battle for second between Michael Twilling and Bobby Woods. At the 3rd A main, it was Michael getting the edge over Bobby for the second overall position.

TLR 5ive-B 1/5th scale 4WD race buggy kit

TLR 5ive-B 1/5th scale 4WD race buggy kit

Team Losi Racing have introduced their all-new 5ive-B 1/5th scale 4WD race buggy kit. Purpose-designed for competition use the buggy is inspired by TLR’s 8ight 1/8th scale buggy platform and it is based on a hard-anodised 5mm 6061-T6 short wheelbase aluminium chassis. Milled pockets make for optimised flex and the lowest possible weight. The suspension package uses hard anodised 24mm shock absorbers and heavy duty aluminium shock towers. The shocks also benefit from X-rings, shock boots and TiCN shock shafts for smooth, consistent performance. The shock towers offer multiple shock mounting options that give racers an abundance of tuning options for different track conditions. Adjustable toe and anti-squat plates allow to tune the suspension geometry as known from the smaller 1/8th buggies.

LFR Hammer pre-cut 1/8th off-road wing

LFR Hammer pre-cut 1/8th off-road wing

Leadfinger Racing have announced the release of the pre-cut Hammer 1/8th off-road wing. Designed to withstand even the hardest of crashes the wing features a special design as, by smoothing out the surface on the top of the wing, durability increased dramatically. The same theory was applied to the rear. By eliminating the bolt on wicker bill, no holes need to be drilled. Instead, LFR has created a built in wicker that is moulded into the design. The last step was to make it look more characteristic to an 1/8 thawing, and get away for the 1/10 look. This was accomplished by dropping the side dams which in turn helped to create some serious down force. To make things easier for the racer the wing comes pre-cut, doing away with the hassle to cutting the ultra thick polycarbonate.
